Timothy,
Really good
guest,
Good bourbon, nice for a change of pace.
Brian,
Spice and sweet with no real discerning flavor. Long slight burn finish. Nothing special for this price.
Shane,
Easy drinking and smooth. Nothing really characteristic about it.
Jay,
One of my favorites.
Tracy,
Very complex for the price point and what I believe to be the best bang for the buck. Have had the reserve and single barrel and am not as impressed.
Mark,
Pretty good, worth trying if you like four roses, but it's barely better than the regular stuff for $10 less. Four roses single barrel is definitely worth the $10 more than this small batch though.

Heather,
Good sipping.
Joe,
Great value. Tastes sweeter.
Ronald,
One of my favorites! Smooth and easy to drink! Light burn and sweet start but finish is perfection! Not too sweet or bitter on finish!
Russell,
This is our favorite "all-purpose" bourbon to use in cocktails - Whiskey Sour, Kentucky Mule, and others. It's not our favorite "neat" and while others will note it's more spicy than sweet, we like that as balance in many of our cocktails, especially those that have sugar/simple-syrup. You cannot wrong this in any drink.
Neil,
This is a very good bourbon for this price. My rating is based on flavor and profile, but this is one of the best bourbons under $35 in my opinion.
Brian,
This has a floral note that I really do not like.
Chris,
My first Bourbon love, this is the one that hooked me. Great everyday sipper.
guest,
Solid bourbon at a solid price point. I always keep a bottle on hand. Good on the rocks or in manhattans and old fashions.
Ryan,
Good
Andy,
I don't love this neat but on a rock it really shines for me. Super sweet with butter and cinnamon. A nice clove finish.
Glenn,
Surprisingly delicious. This is a perfect example of a great whiskey at a great price point. Along with the flavor spiral I am getting butter as well.
Adam,
Slightly more complex and more full of flavor on the tongue than the standard Four Roses. When you want to step it up a notch from the standard.
Paul,
Drinks well and is a steal at the price point. Some many others out there charging $50 to $$$$ and they do t compare
guest,
Caramel and spice in smell and taste. It has a nice sweet taste with a medium bite. Good to sip but a good cocktail candidate.
David,
Agree with the Flaviar tasting notes as this is a really nice sipper. Love the vanilla and dark chocolate finish. Just ordered my second bottle!!
Richard,
go small batch - not single barrel - a great chewy bourbon.. deep dark fruit flavors (plums and blackberries over lemons) and a complex spicy palate and finish....
Jeff,
Tad harsh with simple notes.
Patrick,
Strong floral notes
Jason,
Sweet smell but not strong sweet taste. Spicy, get a long drawn burn at the end. Def a complex flavor.
Bill,
Good flavor and lasting in the back of the throat
Ivan,
A fine tasting mature bourbon. There's a lot of complexity here. Some spice, vanilla, and oaky notes but none are too overbearing. It's very subtle in its flavoring. The finish is long and warm and the spice is what stands out in the finish.
Gabriel,
Seems very muted. Can definitely pull out things but most things are very faint, on my nose/palate at least.
Nose: Sweet, subdued, faint potpourri
Palate: BBQ (faint), savory, well rounded, spicy (peppery), rye, barley
Thomas,
Solid daily sipper. Prefer the single barrel and small batch select.
Jeff,
I definitely enjoy this one
Adam,
A bit sweet for my taste
Charlie,
honestly, I dont recall and Ive tasted too much tonight already. But its definitely in the like category.
Ken,
Probably one of the finest and most honest takes on this website. I'm sold, thanks Charlie.
Ira,
Nice simple everyday sipping bourbon. Lots of corn and caramel. Maybe not my first dram of the night if I want to have something special but it's an excellent follow-up. I'm looking forward to trying some of their next-tier stuff.
Stacy,
Sweet and smooth. Enjoyable sipper!
David,
Smooth blend.
Mason,
Wonderful and smooth sipper!
Jeff,
One of my favorite bourbons. easy to drink on the rocks and taste great.
Paul,
Very smooth and enjoyable. Complex flavors.
Stephen,
Very smooth and yet deep flavors. This is a good bourbon to be a bar staple
Shawn,
With a splash of water - sweet and spicy with some ethanol heat for sure. Aroma is sweet and boozy as well. Not as much oak as I was hoping but good to keep in the regular rotation.
Michael,
Nice every day drink, has a sweet vanilla taste that can be enjoyed neat in the summer
Anderson,
This is my current daily driver bourbon. I has a nice sweetness on the nose and tongue. It has a little bite, but not too bad. It finishes nicely. It's a good value. Makes a good Manhattan.
Todd,
it smells sweet. It tastes sweet with a tiny bite at the end. Great on the rocks. Nice sipping!
guest,
Smooth taste and nice finish, a great value for the price and my go to Bourbon after a long day of work.
Sergio,
It has a sweet smell to the nose. It also has a honey taste but a kick of spice for a finish. Not my go to drink. For the price it's ok.
Mark,
Unless you put it on the rocks, it bites.
Seth,
Great every day bourbon. Could go back and forth with Elijah Craig as my go to, everyday bourbon.

Frank,
Spicy to start then mellows to a full flavor. Very smooth for a 104 proof bourbon. Great on the rocks or with a splash of water.
Alex,
Smooth
Scott,
Another of the great value bourbons. I like the slightly sweet start and slightly spicy finish. Its similar, but a lesser version of the Single Barrel 4R.
Overall a really good bourbon, especially at its price point.
Nick,
So smooth, fruity, wonderful.
Gregory,
Nice sweet spiciness with an oak finish at the end. Great for its price.
Tom,
Good
Brian,
Good bourbon at a great price.
Andy,
Super smooth, fruity with nice long and soft spicy end
Jim,
One of my favorites.
Sean,
The small batch has a less harsh note then regular four roses. Minor oak flavor comes through at the end
Brian,
Great every day bottle. Best on the rocks. Smooth and delicious.
Terry,
Got a bite. Don’t get smooth. Decent flavor and finishes well.
guest,
Spicy and good! Great whiskey for the price but I don’t think the flavor evolves too much
Leo,
A great daily sip!
Paul,
Not a bad whiskey for the price. Could I sip on it all night...probably not. Nice spicy flavor that does linger in the mouth. Not to sweet.
Antonio,
Great for the price. Will definitely be getting again.
Constantine,
Interesting flavor mix. A bit of a bite but still delicious.
Matthew,
Flavors of dark cherry and brown sugar on the palate. Very good bourbon.
Colton,
Spicy Peppery with a nice Sweetness
Alexander,
Regularly my go to whiskey. Caramel notes and slight spice go well together. I can comfortable drink it straight or make a cocktail with it and it compliments well and can hold its own against whiskeys of a similar price and higher.
Jason,
Easy drinking, great bourbon. Smooth and light bite at the back end.
Beau,
Very nice, sweet, smooth bourbon.
Erik,
I prefer this over the 4R single barrel, really enjoyable pour
Chase,
Sweet sweet bourbon!
Jason,
Right up there as one of the top bourbons in my stock. Smooth, very enjoyable.
Tom,
Such a unique flavor. My go to bourbon
Aaron,
This is one of the best buys in bourbon. While it holds its own in a cocktail I prefer it neat. I get mostly woody notes on the nose, stonefruit and cinnamon on the palette. The mouthfeel is very smooth and decadent with a long, spicy finish and notes of vanilla. If I had to keep just one bottle in the cabinet this would be a contender.
Brian,
Bought this and Elijah Craig. Like the Elijah Craig much better.
Dylan,
I'm a novice, but I really liked this one aside from it being on the pricey side for my current taste/budget. Easy to drink, but has more character than Monkey Shoulder, which is another good beginner whiskey that I liked.
Luke,
Buttery caramelized brown sugar nose and flavor
guest,
Smooth tasting with a very subtle spice at the end. Taste of sweetness of vanilla. Sweet smell of hint of cherry without over powering alcohol.
Anna,
This one tried very hard, but I still haven't found a bourbon that I actually enjoy. Predominantly sugary with a petrol finish.
Carlos,
one of the best bottles I've had so far.
Jared,
Too smooth. No bite at all. The single barrel is waaay better.
Brad,
Silky smooth. Love the flavor. Wonderful bourbon
guest,
Nice sipping bourbon with a 2x2 or sphere.
James,
Very good
salvador,
love the flavor, smooth and sweet with a spicy finish
guest,
Love it
guest,
My go-to.
guest,
Vanilla, caramel, fruit and floral on the nose. Taste of caramel apple, vanilla, rose, spice and oak. Overall not bad, gave 6 stars because even my favorites have been rated 9 and I liked them much more.
Erin,
This is a decent bourbon at its price point, not my favorite but good enough
Adam,
Smooth
Dan,
Easily my go-t0 bourbon (as of 2020)
Vladislavs,
Too sweet for me though is good as base for Old Fashioned
Mike,
Smooth not alot of burn
Tim,
Not my favorite of the four roses collection but still good. More spice than I like
David,
Spicy to drink neat. But lovely when used in a sour or any other mixed drink.
John,
Great bourbon for the price. Love the vanilla and plum notes up front. Just the right amount of spice and alcohol to finish. Simply smooth all around Really excellent value. I would consider this an ideal every day bourbon.
guest,
Delicious
Patrick,
Was referred by a friend to this....big mistake! In the end it was the single barrel that was supposed to be recommended. This is too sour and overblown with ethanol flavor and aroma! One the worst bourbons I've ever had...and that says a lot.
guest,
Smooth with great flavor.
guest,
Proper bourbon
John,
very smooth
Evan,
Notable for the spicy flavor and fruity/sweet finish.
This is a solid everyday whiskey. It has a bit of spice on the front end and fades into a smooth fruit pretty quickly. The finish a bit short but pleasant.
Anthony,
Full flavor with a Nice smooth finish.
guest,
Woodsy vanilla slight bite, but delicious
guest,
A little on the sweeter side very smooth and enjoyable
Ian,
Solid bourbon. The spice is what stayed in my mouth, which isn’t my preference, hence not a higher score.
Iain,
Warm, smooth, perfect on the rocks
Ryan,
Super smooth, nice balance of sweet and spice
guest,
Pretty good, friend and I killed it
BRADLEY,
Delicious. I love the vanilla, great sipper straight or with a cube.
Brian,
Fruity and smooth, with some caramel and vanilla. Very easy to sip.
Jeffery,
Some of the best I’ve had
Brandon,
This is a lot better than I thought it'd be.
Mike,
Love this one. Great flavor profile. Neat or with a single cube.
Jason,
Big fan of Four Roses in general. Small batch offers a more consistent experience than the single barrel and is much better than the base product. That being said I like the crazy variance from single barrels. But this is a solid product. Four Roses is a different kind of animal in the bourbon world with their various recipes/blends.
Rick,
Always a favorite for me. Just the right amount of sweetness balanced with a peppery spice on the palate and nose for me. One I'd highly recommend for the money that can compete with many higher priced bourbons
Daniel,
Strong flavor but an extremely smooth finish. A perfect bourbon to have in a flask while skiing to keep you warm on the lifts!
Scott,
Strong bold flavor with a smooth finish
Hugh,
Fell in love with this bottle. Im a "on the rocks" man and it is perfect. Maybe my new go to whiskey. Price is perfect
John,
Smooth!!
Steve,
One of my favorite bourbons, very smooth and drinkable. Always have a bottle in the home bar
Chelsea,
Little spicy for my taste, kind of dry. Burns more than expected.
Gary,
One of my favorites along with the Single barrel!
Michael,
Great value! better than many bourbons at twice the price.
Christina,
It's okay? Just so inferior to the single barrel I can't buy it again. Spend a little more and be happier.
guest,
Tasty!
Steve,
I might play favorites, but I like the last and how smooth it is. I compare others to this one. Nice flavor and very smooth.
Abby,
Smooth, distinct finish. Great easy drinking bourbon.
Scott,
Extremely smooth
Bruce,
A very smooth bourbon which was enjoyed by all. An excellent choice for sure. Exceptionally Good!
Dane,
A very smooth bourbon, perfect for drinking neat. At it's price point it's in a league of it's own for a "small batch" bourbon.
Homer,
This is a go to when I have a few friends over and I don’t feel like pouring away all my sought after single malts. It’s a solid Bourbon that people tend to really enjoy and I’ve had plenty of these bottles in my home bar but maybe a bit sweet for my taste these days.
