What a year that was, right? An eventful one for sure but we’ll leave all in the past except for our fav sippers. We’re keeping those for years to come and this bundle conveniently offers you all 3 of them.
First one up, Hercules Mulligan. This one was created with sophisticated free thinkers in mind. Inspired by the eponymous tailor-spy of the American Revolution, Hercules Mulligan Rum & Rye (43% ABV) encapsulates the clandestine and complex character with its carefully selected ingredients. American Rye Whiskeys were married with aged Caribbean Rum before they were joined by macerated fresh organic ginger from Brooklyn. A dash of bespoke bitters were added for the idea of a bittersweet life. Powerful, flavorful and rare, we definitely see why you loved it so much.
Our next favorite comes from the oldest Rum Distillery on the island of Barbados. A new edition from 2020, Mount Gay XO Triple Cask Blend (43% ABV) is a blend of Rums aged between 5 and 17 years in a combination of casks — ex-Bourbon, ex-Whiskey, and ex-Cognac. There’s a lot of character there and it’s not too sweet with a great balance of spice and fruit notes. Not a surprising winner, this one, either.
Now for some good ol’ Whiskey. Hailing from Tennessee, Uncle Nearest honors the extraordinary history of Nathan Green, the preacher’s slave, the man who trained Jack Daniels, and the first African American distiller. Uncle Nearest 1856 Premium Whiskey (50%) is a rich and smooth Spirit with a sweet nose and a caramel palate with just the right amount of spices. Made with local grains and a special yeast strain, you bet this one was an instant favorite.
Next up, we’re heading West. Westward American Single Malt Whiskey (45% ABV) that begins as an American Pale Ale but after undergoing slow fermentation and double distillation it transforms into a beautiful Whiskey butterfly. Aged in lightly toasted new American Oak barrels, it seems you guys aren’t the only fans of this dram as it won Double Gold at San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
And finally, you loved the core expression from the impressive Bruichladdich Distillery. Created by their Head Distiller Adam Hannett, this is their signature Single Malt (50% ABV) and they call it "The Classic Laddie". There’s no peat in this Islay rebel that’s made from 100% Scottish barley. It’s aged in first-fill ex-Bourbon casks, it’s not chill-filtred, and there’s no artificial coloring. A bottle, worthy a place on your shelf.
