― Rye heavy bourbon nice spicy kick spicy 🔥!!

― Back on track with the advent calendar and trying out day 5’s selection. Rye fills the nose when you first smell it but you can catch the sweetness in the aroma too. When you sip it the spice isn’t too bad but the sweetness of it is very noticeable. You can catch the scent and taste of honey in it as well mostly at the end notes. Drop a cube of ice in it and it mellows out the rye well. It really accentuates the sweetness of it. To be fair it’s not sweet and flowery like day 1’s sample. Personally, I think I’m not as much of a fan of Whiskys that are too sweet. I appreciate the sweetness that comes from fruity flavors but just sweet is just not quite my pallet. still not bad, but reminds me of Jack Daniels I think (please don’t quote me on that, I don’t drink it any more because of an eventual night with a bottle of Jack and Jack rabbits, haven’t touched it in 10 years). All in all, not bad. But it’s not really making me want to pour another glass like day 4’s selection did.
