Steve
Steve,
Loved it versus the grain or blend which were just a little harsh for my palate. This was a smooth swallow and very nice warm feeling after.

Brad
Brad,
I personally prefer the Malt or Blend over the Grain. This bottle has a little bite on the end. Not much but a little. Great pour over ice.

Juan
Juan,
Less flavors and complexity than the grain. Not bad though.

Shawn
Shawn,
Strong oak and sherry and bitter taste initially. Dies quickly, average

Chris
Chris,
Decent malt whiskey with strong oak and sherry. Finish is shorter than I expected. Hit the honey after a few drops of water added.

Bill
Bill,
Softer than the grain. Shuttle but pleasant nose. Enjoyable drink but not rememberable.

Tim
Tim,
Pleasant on the nose (apricots come to mind), lots of oak and not much else on the palate. Disappointing. I wanted to know more about what this thing actually is and started reading the details when I found this: "Blended Single Malt". Not to be a stickler for terminology, but there's no such thing as a blended single malt. The description in "About" section didn't help much either when it listed Speyside among the list of brands (it's a region, not a brand) while dropping the 30 year old Macallan detail. Let me guess how much 30 yo Macallan is in this blend, 1 eye dropper?

David
David,
Smooth, but too much oak/wood flavor for our preference.

Mark
Mark,
Oak.

Benjamin
Benjamin,
Very oak forward, not my favorite, especially for the price point. Nose - an oak bomb in your face, with a bit of malty grain. Taste - strong oak spice at the beginning, a bit of sweet notes in the background. Finish - oak spice burns for a bit, and you get some more bitter notes at the end.

Mark
Mark,
Light flavor, sweet from honey with slight oak and beer hints.

Lori
Lori,
Smokey-oak. Flat. Easy to drink, but not much flavor.

Richard
Richard,
This was definitely the heaviest of the 3 choices in the Exceptional tasting box. Nice strong finish.

Nakeva
Nakeva,
Nice mix of smoothness and flavor. The oak wasn't overbearing and the honey shined through with perfection.

Richard
Richard,
Spicier than the grain, a very similar profile. Again I can see the beer taste, but I get more spice combating with sweet. I little bit of a bite. Overall very good and I wouldn't mind having in my bar, but would probably take the grain over this one.

Derreck
Derreck,
Dry, heavy bite

Jesse
Jesse,
Balanced and solid, just a bit outside my flavor profile. A bit too much dry wood. I know.!

Wesley
Wesley,
I received this in my quarterly sample. I tasted using a Glencairn. Tasted both at cellar temperature at chilled with ice. I found it smoky with oak. Some peat. Nothing spectacular. I will spend my money on two bottles of The Macallan 12 I stead of one of these.

Matt
Matt,
Not really feeling this one. A little too oaky and zesty up front for my taste.

Antti
Antti,
It is an outstanding, balanced, Blended Malt Whisky with a long rancio death!

Shawna
Shawna,
Too oaky and smokey.

Matt
Matt,
I had this at a tasting and it was delightful.

Jefferey
Jefferey,
Deep dark flavors, needs a bit of water to open up. Molasses. Ginger. Almost a bit of sherry brandy way deep in the finish. The sherry casks come through, the age speaks softly. A very fine dram.

Jeffrey
Jeffrey,
Shared with a friend. One loved it, the other hated it. Reminds me of other scotch that I really like
