Character Goatson

There are many founding fathers of Bourbon, but it was Elijah Craig who matured his Whiskey in new charred oak barrels. Two hundred fifty years later, the eponymous distiller carries on the innovation, creating sought-after treasures. This particular gem of a Bourbon was barreled in 2000 and left to mature for 22 years. One barrel, and that's it. Insanely rare and extravagant.

Straight Bourbon must be matured for at least 2 years. If a bottle has no age statement, it’s at least 4 years old.
Bourbon was declared "The Official Spirit of America" by an Act of Congress signed by President Lyndon Johnson in 1964.
At any given time, there are more barrels of Bourbon in Kentucky than there are people. The population of the Bluegrass State is about 4.4 million. Today there are more than 5 million barrels of Bourbon sitting in the rick-houses of that Old Kentucky Home. That’s nearly 300 bottles of Bourbon per person, or about 60 gallons each.
In 1996, more than 90,000 barrels, and one of their production buildings were destroyed in a fire. That's almost 24 million bottles-worth of premium American Whiskey. Rivers of flaming spirit were flowing in and around the distillery.
Heaven Hill is a well respected distillery, even amongst their competitors. After the fire of 1996, the local major distilleries Jim Beam and Brown Forman shared their stills with Heaven Hill while they rebuilt.
Bourbon must be made from a grain mixture that is at least 51% corn.
