To say it is smoky is an understatement, but the other flavors, sensory queues and finish make up for it, in my opinion. As Theodore said, trying some new Mezcals may now be in order.
I love smokiness. I grill almost weekly year round and often make smoked ice while my grill is cooling down for my old fashion mixes and manhattans. The smokiness of this, too me, is on point. I must admit I’ve been a long time fan of bourbons and whiskeys but this is making me consider trying more tequilas and mezcals. Brilliant! If you like a little smoke this is great. Mixes super well too
Not as smokey as I expect for a mezcal -- especially given the reviews. Tastes closer to tequila than expected. All that being said, it's still very good.
El Buho reminds me of the best beach bonfire I ever experienced. Complete with superbly charred skirt steak and pico de gallo. It doesn't taste like skirt steak and pico but conjures the memories through its smokey earthy agave campfire tones.
I only drank this bottle with 1 or 2 ice cubes at a time. Didn't occur to me to mix with anything. Perfect for sipping.
