Took a trip to Edrador lovely part of the world this was Ballechin 10 year old heavily peated, which I was a little disappointed as while peated not really as high peated as sold nice flavour with bbq notes oak etc
My second favorite Smokey dram behind Bowmore 18. This isn’t extremely peaty on the nose as they claim. The smoke is there but the other flavors are dominant like a semi buttery wine note and sweet flavors throughout. Really nice stuff.
Wow this dram is darn near perfect. Sherry, marzipan, sweet, little oak on the back end with a nice lingering, but soft sweetness finish. This is a must have for anyone looking for a sherry/sweet/non-peated scotch. Plus these guys are essentially a craft distillery who actually know what they are doing. What a treat.
Fell in love with this while in Scotland. One of my absolute favorites. It's sweet and smooth and not peated (which I am not a fan of)! I savor it, because it's not easy to find in the states. I brought a bottle back with me, but had to review it here because I love it so much.
I think this is the first time the flavor wheel was exactly what I experienced. Nose was that sherry scent I love and look for, the first part of the palate is nutty and spicy leaning towards a rye, then you get the sherry and sweet tastes. Finish was shorter than I wanted though. Great whisky, a must try for anyone who likes sherry casked whisky.
I’m new to the whisky game and have been attempting to develop my palette. On the nose I get dried sultanas/dates with a damp wood of some sort. On the palette, absolutely wedding cake. The dried fruits and marzipan both shine here. A great drop, one of my most memorable so far, and for the price it’s second to none. Love it.
Legit one of the best whiskies on earth. Edradour is tremendously world-class. I've had thousands of drams some well over 35 years and this 10 year from Edradour still blows me away! Too bad you don't see their other offerings on here!!! Please sell more edradours flaviar :)
Excellent, fruity scotch. Fantastic value for money and a smoothness that belies it's 10 years. The nose of a Macallan Sherry without that horrible sulphur.
This is one of my favorite scotches, though I have noticed a difference between the UK seal bottles and the US bottles. The UK Edradour is smoother and richer than the one with the US seal. The difference is so marked that unless it has the UK seal, I generally won't buy it. It's a highland scotch and as an Isley girl, I still put it at top rating because it's so good.
If you ever get a chance to visit the distillery, I highly recommend it! So much of what they make is downright amazing, and the tour of the distillery is really great! I've introduced this to many people over the years, and everyone goes back for more.
