A classic Highland-style dram with a great Rum-like character.

Located in Perthshire, Edradour Distillery calls themselves "the smallest distillery in Scotland.” The entire production is run by two men who can produce a maximum of only eighteen casks per week. That’s a small fraction of what the larger distilleries crank out. But they still manage to produce no less than 30 different Single Malts. Basically, Edradour is a small-batch distiller where two Whiskey-loving blokes spend their days tinkering and experimenting with their Highland Single Malt spirit to make a bunch of small-batch wonderfulness.

Aged in ex-Sherry casks, Edradour 10 Year Old Distillery Edition is the primary Single Malt of their line. In many ways it’s a classic Highland-style Single Malt with a sweeter, fruit-forward flavor profile. But it also has a beautifully full mouthfeel and an almost Rum-like essence. Why? Darned if we know… Ascribe it to the magic of local earth, water, and air that makes each Single Malt unique. And we think every Whisky-loving bloke should have this tasty dram on their bucket list.

Tasting Notes

Appearance / Color
Light amber.

Nose / Aroma / Smell
The aromas a wonderfully complex in a ten-year dram with notes of orchard fruits, rancio, and toffee.

Flavor / Taste / Palate
The flavor profile is seriously entertaining with warm fruitcake, marzipan, and brittle.

The finish is alive with dried fruits and rum-cake topped with créme fresh.
Ratings & Reviews
Wow this dram is darn near perfect. Sherry, marzipan, sweet, little oak on the back end with a nice lingering, but soft sweetness finish. This is a must have for anyone looking for a sherry/sweet/non-peated scotch. Plus these guys are essentially a craft distillery who actually know what they are doing. What a treat.
Fell in love with this while in Scotland. One of my absolute favorites. It's sweet and smooth and not peated (which I am not a fan of)! I savor it, because it's not easy to find in the states. I brought a bottle back with me, but had to review it here because I love it so much.
My favorite all time whiskey
Fresh clean smell. My first scotch ever. It gave me the giggles!
I’m new to the whisky game and have been attempting to develop my palette. On the nose I get dried sultanas/dates with a damp wood of some sort. On the palette, absolutely wedding cake. The dried fruits and marzipan both shine here. A great drop, one of my most memorable so far, and for the price it’s second to none. Love it.
Legit one of the best whiskies on earth. Edradour is tremendously world-class. I've had thousands of drams some well over 35 years and this 10 year from Edradour still blows me away! Too bad you don't see their other offerings on here!!! Please sell more edradours flaviar :)
Excellent, fruity scotch. Fantastic value for money and a smoothness that belies it's 10 years. The nose of a Macallan Sherry without that horrible sulphur.
Extremely smooth
Very smooth, velvety and grain high notes.
Damn near perfect, for 10 years it is a prodigy, if I ever see any other expression (burgundy or Sauternes matured) I would buy without hesitation
Flavorful and smooth, I taste most of the fruits before the sherry hits.
This is one of my favorite scotches, though I have noticed a difference between the UK seal bottles and the US bottles. The UK Edradour is smoother and richer than the one with the US seal. The difference is so marked that unless it has the UK seal, I generally won't buy it. It's a highland scotch and as an Isley girl, I still put it at top rating because it's so good. If you ever get a chance to visit the distillery, I highly recommend it! So much of what they make is downright amazing, and the tour of the distillery is really great! I've introduced this to many people over the years, and everyone goes back for more.
