The Freihof Distillery started as a public house — a rooming house with a pub attached to it — in Austria back in 1885. From there is wasn’t long before they started distilling and flavoring their own spirits. Soon the distilling business crowed out the pub and inn. Since then they have consistently turned out specialty Spirits and Liqueurs. They pride themselves on avoiding mass market products, choosing to focus on tasty regional and artisanal specialties.

The edelweiss is a small, white fragrant flower native to the alps in Austria and Switzerland. To be clear, EDELWEISS Alpine Vodka has no actual edelweiss in it. The name was chosen because of its romantic ties to the nearby mountains and the fragrant, fruity and floral aroma of the Vodka. Uniquely, EDELWEISS Alpine Vodka is fermented and distilled from a variety of fruits grown in local orchards near Lake Constance on the Swiss-Austrian border — brining a delicate sweetness to the spirit.

Vodka can be made anywhere in the world and pretty much of any ingredient that contains starch.

For a potato-based Vodka, 12kg (26.5lbs) potatoes are needed to produce a single bottle.
It looks like potato chips and flavored Vodka are two things where the producers unleash their imagination. Bubble gum, fresh cut grass, pumpkin pie, marshmallow, and coconut water hardly begin to describe the many flavors of Vodka.
Unlike its boozy brethren Bourbon and Scotch, Vodka can be made anywhere in the world. But it’s Eastern Europe that gets the credit for its birth. Just don’t ask Russia and Poland to get to the bottom of it—both argue that they masterminded the Spirit first.
You won't impress the bartender by ordering Vodka-soda, but it's a good choice if you want to avoid unecessary sugar intake and make sure you stay hydrated when consuming alcohol.
