The story goes back to 1921, when Frances Le Lay, the great-grandmother of the family started to distill cider and began the family’s tradition that has remained so until this day. In 1986 Guy Le Lay wanted to do something different and started distilling Whisky out of buckwheat; yes buckwheat. Originating from Bretagne in France they started to make Whisky out of buckwheat, which is perhaps a tad unorthodox for typical Whisky aficionados. But this water of life from Bretagne is a drop that you must try, even to just expand your flavour horizon.
