The Dunnet Bay Distillery was founded in
2014 by husband and wife team
Martin and Claire Murray. Both had a passion for distilling – in fact, Martin studied brewing and distilling at a University in Edinburgh, before pursuing a career in the oil industry.
Residing on the
North coast of Scotland in the town of
Caithness, Dunnet Bay Distillery is one of Scotland’s most northerly distilleries and creates both
Rock Rose Gin and
Holy Grass Vodka, which are made in their British made custom still called Elizabeth.
The Distillery’s location is present even in its products; locally grown plants and botanicals feature heavily, and there’s even a
geodome (like a fancy greenhouse) on-site. Visitors are invited to find out more on the distillery tours which run four times a week between May and September, or to visit the on-site shop.
