Member Reviews and Ratings of Dry Fly Straight Washington Bourbon 101
Brett,
Not what I expected very good aroma and a bold flavor. Very pleasant
Dave,
Smooth!
Richard,
So smooth!!
Mark,
Smooth, easy drinking. A mellow carmel flavor came out for me, but not as flavorful as other bourbons. Enjoyed it, but prefer other bourbons more.
Julia,
A great bourbon bottle at a great proof. Just right on a cold evening.
Kelly,
I really enjoyed the flavor of this. I really like Pendleton whiskey and this seemed easy to sip as well and it’s delicious!! I thought it is slightly sweet in flavor.
Omar,
Very sweet and high notes on the nose. It's looks something change from my first bottle back on 2014, it is a great selection to explore higher grounds.
Stephen,
Smooth and balanced...great for Old Fashions and Manhattans. Also nice for old horseheads.
Joseph,
Nice to know here in Washington State, there is more that 1 great whiskey to chose from. I dare say it's better than Woodinville.
Mike,
Wonderful vanilla and caramel flavors
Well balanced
Even my wide who doesn't drink whiskey enjoyed it as well
Aaron,
Yeah it's a bit hot, tastes hotter than a 50% ABV IMO, but that's not the issue for me, it can always be cut with a few drops of water. I think it has a slight nutty vibe, and I just can't appreciate a nuttiness in bourbon. That, for me, makes it something I won't buy again.
Michael,
I love the heat and the buzz I get when I sip this on the rocks, being from Washington State I love drinking something local and delicious.
Susan,
Nice taste, a bit hot on the finish.
Robert,
Started out sweet then went to a warm peppery finish
Ethan,
Awesome flavor for the price.
Michelle,
Very strong in the throat. A nice daily.
Steven,
It was Ok has a nice finish Not sure if it is worth the price. It had a spicy bite at first then a nice warm sweet finish.
guest,
Give this a second try. I wasn’t a fan after one glass. I even dropped some water in it to lighten the proof. I returned a week later to find a very good sippable high proof bourbon that was filled with life.
Kevin,
Spicy and tasty. A little potent, but full of life.
Tom,
Nice spicy start and a little bit sweet finish. A nice surprise.
erick,
I keep buying it. :-)
erick,
Fantastic. Very smooth. I'm buying this again. :-)
erick,
Great whiskey. :-)
Kale,
You sent me wheat whiskey instead of my burbon
Alfie,
Quite dry with an amazing warm finish down the throat. Not too enjoyable as a sipping bourbon, but quite delicious after a hard day's work.
Corey,
Nice sweet nose. Up front I enjoyed the vanilla/caramel but felt the heat came on too soon and harsh even for a 101--is more reminiscent of the Dry Fly 120 proof wheated whiskey. The finish lingers but there was an off apple flavor in the finish that detracts from the rest of the bourbon.
Charles,
Not a bad taste. Never had anything like this. Art first night a strong hint of any underline flavors. But once you go for the second, everything catches up to you. It really does.
Smooth as silk. Love it. Willing to try others from Dry Fly.
Richard,
One of the best I have ever tasted, tremendous flavor and the right amount of bite, smooth down the throat
Stephen,
Nice and smooth. Soft and flavorful with a light finish.
Steve,
To me this is just a very adequate bourbon...nothing special, but not bad either.
Shannon,
Very bold. Very spicy with an aftertaste of oak and toffee.
Garison,
Very spicy.
Travis,
Tastes like bad medicine. Was not a fan at all.
Kristopher,
there’s not such thing as bad bourbon, but be aware that this one is SHARP.
Matt,
I really enjoyed it. Very smooth. Would never had guessed it was 101 had I not known. Mildly complex but I’m really not sure I would pay that when others are just as good (and yes better) for less. Lower the price point and it’s even better! Given a chance I’d certainly grab a dram down the road. 🤙
Colleen,
Warm, smooth, hints of clove and caramel.
scott,
Easy on the dry, heavy on the fly. Washington can and should do better.
Brian,
Least sweet of the three, but there are better bottles at this price point
Cole,
Not a bad 101, definitely has a spicy kick mixed with cloves. Smoother than most mid to bottom shelf 101 Bourbons and Whiskeys. Good neat, interesting when mixed with a Dr. Pepper. A splash of water brings out more of the subtle notes.
Danny,
Not bad for a 101. Relatively smooth. Of the On the Bourbon Trail three, I would still give it to High West.
Justin,
Good with a bit of spice. Not my favorite but good and would drink again.
Aaron,
This bourbon is just ok, did not stand out to me in any way.
Ross,
Smooth, tons of flavor.
Ann,
This selection offered an evening of conversation and debate as to what notes were detected. Wish we had a larger sample as it changed with every taste.
Robert,
Too sweet for me.
Terry,
I love this bourbon. The Port cask is one of my favorites
Corey,
Pretty solid, couple drops of water and it opened up to a smooth bourbon.
Bret,
Very smooth for a 101. Nice spice up front with a long semi sweet, vanilla, caramel finish. Love to buy a bottle and really explore, putting it on my wish list. My favorite out of the Off the Bourbon Trail box.
Jeff,
Fair taste , nice flavor holds carmal and spice with a strong fibish . I would atick with High West as the winner of these three
Lynn,
A little harsh but good 101
Craig,
Of the three in the box this one tasted the least like Bourbon, as I know it, to me. It tasted a bit hot and maybe a little too "woodsy" for my taste.
