In the land of Cognac and Champagne…Whisky? Oui, Whisky! Think about it, France has centuries of distilling experience under their ceintures. On average, the French drink more Whisky than any other place on the planet. Oh and they love making it too...
There are several French distilleries producing Whisky, and they have a very distinct way of doing it. A very French way. The first French Whisky was produced at Warenghem distillery in 1987, who then introduced the first single malt in 1998.
There are several distilleries primarily in Brittany, a town of Celtic origin, but there are over 40 Distilleries in France alone. Click on the map to explore the distilleries of France!
