Black Cherry exclusive.
Franz-Xaver Dettling discovered that black cherries grown in central Switzerland produce remarkably fragrant Brandy. So in 1867 he founded the distillery which has become one of the leading producers of Cherry Brandy in Europe! Good call.
Many years have passed since then, but the ancestors still abide the two rules set by grandfather. Focus on selecting ripe Cherries, and make distilling an art.
Dettling Superieur Vieux Cherry is a kosher-certified Cherry Brandy, stored in demijohn bottles for a period of two years. Unlike other fruit producers, Dettling distils cherries exclusively. The advantage being that the pots don't absorb flavours from other fruits except cherries.
The drink itself originates from Black Forest in Germany, where it's called “Kirschwasser” (German for Cherry water).
