Nicholas
Nicholas,
I really wanted to like this one - but it’s youth kills it. Their are flavors in it I love, a touch of peat and it’s smell is amazing, but it has a bite that almost surprises you. On the nose, you think you’ll get something a touch sweet - and you do - and then it kind of kicks you square in the jaw with it’s youth. It’s not bad - but not something I’d want to keep in my home bar.

David
David,
Solid 7. Sweet and smoky with a bit more burn than I typically care for. Still enjoyable!

Harrison
Harrison,
This was a tough rate for me because I am not a fan of peat. That being said, I've had much more complete drams of whisky for a much lower price point. I'm unsure if it's the even cooler temperatures of the smaller islands that hinders the maturation, but this one tastes very young.

Stephen,
As a follow up the more I have this one the more I love it. I did not like it at first but as I tasted it more I really love all the flavors

Robert
Robert,
Very good scotch the Smokey flavor melds well with the spicy and chocolate flavors. I see a lot of people put it on ice will have to try that next time to see if it opens up the flavors.

Charles
Charles,
Excellent scotch. The cask strength needs a bit of water to open the flavour.

Mr.,
A much different and unique flavor. Could taste the chocolate.

Rafael
Rafael,
I typically add a few drops of water or an ice cube for anything above 50%, and it was a wise choice. I was not impressed by the nose, it's very muted for an aged scotch of this ABV. Once you put it in your mouth though, it's anything but muted. Complex, elegant, well balanced. Allspice, a hint of caramel, chestnuts, and some smoke (mind you, I tried it on the same night as my Port Charlotte, so my bar for smokiness might be biased).

Doug
Doug,
I am conflicted about this one. I taste smoke and sometimes butterscotch. There is less sweetness and more burn than I expected. It is a solid "OK" from me: good, but not really my favorite. Revised... from 6 to 7: it is growing on me. After reading others’ notes about putting it on ice, I’m going to give that a shot, too.

Levi
Levi,
Very high alcohol content. I had to ice it and let it melt a bit in order to really get at the notes. It's smokey! Very smokey! No shock there. Definitely a sipper.

Stephen
Stephen,
This is an excellent scotch! It reminds me of Talisker 18, but with more bite and a lovely puncheon flavor. I highly recommend.

William
William,
I'm not usually a,fan of smoky whisky, but this is very well done. Strong cask strength, nice aroma with a very complex taste. If it was readily available and not so pricey this would be a bar essential.

Jason
Jason,
This one is a bit strong out of the gate at 58% ABV but I added one small ice cube and it mellowed nicely. Not overly Smokey and just a little spicy - good blend of each and not overwhelming. Might rise to a 9 rating with future tastings.

Zane
Zane,
Very happy with this one. Chocolate and smoke are perfect.

Stephen
Stephen,
The flavor is smoke with a burn. Not a bad smoke like a few I have had. After you finish swallowing the drink it feels like you just had a cigar. The smoke lingers in your mouth for minutes after drinking. Not my favorite.
