Top reviews for Deer, Bear & Moose Linkwood 2009:

― Nose is malt pear Apple maybe some citrus Like a high ABV Chardonnay Fruity dry heavy on the pear and Apple Finish is fruity and leads into a vanilla creaminess.

― Not tasting or smelling TCA, but not overly impressed with this bottle. The high proof is the main redeemer, because at lower proof, the notes are greatly dimmed. Main tasting note is sweet almond/marzipan on the nose and palate, with a hint of sherry

― At first the taste it is very strong, but it is over 63% alcohol. I am used to cask strength whiskey so I was prepared. It's clean with no earthiness or smoke. Has a fruity after taste with notes of oak. Complexity does not change too much with a cube. Still very strong on the tongue and warms as it goes down, I don't think it's a straight sipper, but more of a base for an Old Fashioned or Manhattan. I will try that in the future.

Appearance / Color
Light gold with a ruby hue.

Nose / Aroma / Smell
Light as a feather astringent, with sherry, almond, marzipan, apple pie, and oak gently gliding on the surface.

Flavor / Taste / Palate
Beautiful notes of chocolate, gingerbread, apple pie, sherry, and toffee candy. Floral.

Very long for its age and overwhelming, just like the ending of the Swan Lake ballet — in a good way, obviously. Complex hints of sherry.
