Top reviews for Deer, Bear & Moose Auchentoshan 1997:
― A little smokey up front, but followed with a smooth honey flavor. Overall, very smooth and tasty.
― Surprisingly smooth at hits with a musty scotch flavor without the burn. Earthy long finish. I'm enjoying this sipper, keeping the rest for a special occasion.
― Start from the beginning, nice appearance in wrapping. Bottle was safely shipped. Pop the cork, wafe it under my noise, no peat, but still good smell with caramel and fuit. Pour two over the rock, let it breathe, and another wafe under the nose. Now, there is caramel, spice, and fruit. Take first sip, definite burn around outer edge of front of tongue. (Mind you, I think jalepenos are hot). Second sip, burn didn't increase, nor decrease but stayed the same. As did the spice and fruit taste. Warm in the stomache, but not nauseatingly warm, a gentle, pleasing warm. The only thing this was missing was the taste of peat. It was similar to a Gentleman Jack in flavor, and warmth, but much smoother.
