John Curtis & Rich Sicari are Spirits icons of New York State Capital. Just a shout away from an 18th century Rum distillery by the Hudson River, their Albany Distilling Company is the first distillery in the region since the Prohibition. They’re reviving the rich heritage of their State and pushing themselves to create new and bold expressions. This time, they teamed up with Death Wish Coffee Co., a local producer that brews the World’s strongest coffee. After the two companies revolutionized the world of coffee by using coffee beans aged in oak barrels, they decided to do the opposite:
They married Albany Distilling Co.’s ALB vodka (70%) with Death Wish Coffee Co.’s cold-brew coffee (30%). The Spirit that’s born from American corn and distilled six-goddamn-times thus becomes a wonderful bittersweet delicacy and redefines what Vodka can be in the process. No fake color or flavors, no caffeine. Just make sure you shake well before you pour yourself a glass. Add Campari and Triple Sec to make Coffee in Italy cocktail, or just whip some cream for a fabulous White Russian.
What does Death Wish Coffee Flavored Vodka taste like?
The Flavor Spiral™ shows the most common flavors that you'll taste in Death Wish Coffee Flavored Vodka and gives you a chance to have a taste of it before actually tasting it.
We invented Flavor Spiral™ here at Flaviar to get all your senses involved in tasting drinks and, frankly, because we think that classic tasting notes are boring.
Very Enjoyable. Love Death Wish Coffee. Great job on this Vodka.
Janet,
Nice black coffee flavor. Almost a perfect black Russian, or combine with a bit of cream for a white Russian. Fun to have in the evening.
Celeste,
Nothing but bitter
Christopher,
Like a Black Russian all on its own. Actually pretty good. Unsurprising since a friend of mine introduced me to Deathwish when they first started and they always had a really good coffee. In this case, it's just paired with a mild, clean, blank canvas of a vodka. Well done.
HeatherAnn,
Liked the coffee flavor
Mark,
Definitely coffee flavored. Good if you want that coffee hint without a strong, syrup sweetness. Surprisingly drinkable.
Amanda,
Strong coffee flavor. Light sweetness and smooth for sipping.
Tracy,
The strongest coffee flavored vodka I have tried. However, this is not a smooth vodka when you compare it to others. I wanted to just sip it over ice and I can't. It is only good for a mixed drink.
Joe,
Flavorful party in your mouth. Sweet start with rich coffee and chocolate in the middle and finishes with cherry and bittersweet. Interesting aperitif
Chad,
Coffee, vanilla, and caramel on the nose and in the taste. Finish is mainly coffee, fading out to some chocolate. Not something I'd want to drink neat, but solid in cocktails.
Syndi,
Can’t wait to get this bottle! Amazing with pineapple and cran.. which surprised me.. can’t wait to try it with cream:)!!
Justtin,
You definitely get what you ask for with this coffee vodka. I am a fan of the Death Wish Coffee brand, and this did not disappoint. Great to use in mixed drinks.
James,
Syrupy and smooth; perfect for White Russian, Black Russian or in place of after dinner coffee. Chocolate scent and finish. Has a unity lacking in many chocolate or espresso vodkas—this taste like natural flavor rather than add in
Fred,
Smooth vodka and doesn’t have an artificial coffee flavor. Great for use in Black Russian or Colorado Bulldog.
Robert,
extremely smooth. coffee flavor mixed with the maple hit every note I expected and even some I did not know I wanted. A must try for any coffee or vodka lover.
Scott,
Exceptional
Alli,
Favorite!!
Kate,
Definitely perfect for a White Russian!
Austin,
Absolutely fantastic. Only vodka I’ve had as a whiskey drinker that I’d drink on the rocks. If you like coffee this is a home run.
Charles,
Coffee and chocolate -- begs to be in a white russian
Sunny,
Smooth and soft aftertaste with chocolate and maple syrup. Amazing!
Justin,
🤗
Gissela,
This is delicious for anyone that enjoys coffee. It has that creamy chocolate velvet aftertaste and I can see if being great paired with a chocolate desert, as a chocolatini or straight up in coffee itself.
Robert,
One of my favorite liquors, it's smooth with good coffee, chocolate and sweet notes.
Tony,
Delicious smooth and chocolatey.
Bernadette,
Holy freakin cow...the Kahlua of vodka!!
Brad,
This was really smooth but extremely heavy (Death Wish is right) on the coffee flavor.
I mixed this in with my coffee for a surprisingly awesome after dinner beverage.
I recommend trying this to anyone who likes vodka and coffee.
John,
Very rich. Enjoy in moderation.
Paula,
Amazing. Chilled add a little cream. Nice pick me up before going out. Don’t drink before bed though.
Johnathan,
Amazingly Smooth.....
Jesse,
I mean....as vodkas go, this one really is wonderful. Not sure how, but it has a creamy texture and is super easy to drink!
Spencer,
This is easy for me to love. Almost too easy.
Michael,
DWCV (Deathwish Coffee Vodka) is something more for a mixer than a sipper. Those that appreciate sweet coffee will enjoy the flavors this vodka presents. The appearance is dark and clear like a breakfast syrup. The smell is strong and needs to be approached with gentleness, if not it will be overwhelming. First flavor I discovered was the mix of honey and maple syrup that seem to clash together and change to a chocolate bitter. The chocolate transforms into a lasting coffee that seems to last the rest of the trail. I did not find the floral finish but that would of complement the cocoa essence. This is a decent vodka but not one I would shelve, just one to enjoy for those times of change and coffee.
Joshua,
Good coffee flavor, with just a touch of a liqueur-style syrupy sweetness.
Sam,
Tastes more like a whiskey than a vodka. Coffee flavor is very light, but it works well in this concoction.
Denise,
I liked the strong coffee flavor. It mixed well with a variety of liqueurs. I would definitely buy it again.
Zachary,
Nearly undrinkable, I have tried it in cocktails but it just doesn't work. It is somehow simultaneously syrupy sweet and astringently bitter dry. Thank goodness I got this at a raffle.
Debbie,
We liked it a lot. More to shoot than sip.
Jared,
Great for coffee based cocktails
Angela,
Came in Spirits of the World. Tastes like you would think, but not sure what we would ever use this in
Zachary,
Flavorful vodka and smooth finish. Would buy again for making coffee based cocktails
Antti,
It is a bold, Flavored Vodka that has an earthy birth; while a thick & rich life leads to a floral & bittersweet death with more notes of coffee.
Not a coffee drinker
