The Stag, the King and the Hero.

Alexander Matheson, a trader who made his fortune in illegal opium imports from the Far East, founded the Dalmore Distillery in 1839. It is located on the northern shores of the Firth of Cromarty, deep in the Scottish highlands. The Dalmore changed owners many times throughout the years, with Clan Mackenzie being in control the longest. Clan Mackenzie is to thank for Dalmore's signature twelve-progned stag included on all Dalmore bottles. The story of the stag goes back to 1263, when the head of clan Mackenzie heroically saved Scottish King Alexander the Third, with a single arrow to end the Stag's attempt. This distillery boasts with producing one of the most expensive Whiskies in the World, and for being the first to ever export Malt Whisky.

The Dalmore 15 Year Old was aged in two steps. First, an initial maturation for twelve years in American white oak casks, followed by a final maturation (finish) for three years in multiple rare Sherry woods. The Dalmore 15 Year Old is influenced by the Sherry finishing, but hasn't been overwhelmed, which makes this Highland Scotch a real treat.

Top 3 I’ve tried for sure

guest
guest,
Really nice sweet orange essence on the nose with a touch of spice. Taste was more orange with a smooth chocolate mouth feel. Reminded me of chocolate covered orange jelly sticks. Touch of water added brought some ginger out. Very balanced. One of my favorite non-Islay drams.

Derek
Derek,
Simply put, tastes like spiked apple cider from Thanksgiving. But more delicious. Easy to drink. Did I mention apples?

Michael
Michael,
Super smooth! Lots of orange in the nose and on the palate. Baking spice and apple help round it out at the end.

Matt
Matt,
Delightfully smooth scotch with a very unique and pleasant profile. I get a lot of orange and cinnamon spice on the nose, dark chocolate and orange on the palate, and a smooth light apple finish. The nose and palate are definitely the winner here. Finish is surprisingly light, but does linger. Wish this was bottled at a higher ABV, but otherwise, a VERY nice and unique 15 year.

Very unique unlike all the others I’ve tried yet so smooth...

Mehdi
Mehdi,
Smells very rich and deep with sweetness of dark fruits. Rich and creamy body with almost too sweet palate. Not a big fan of this but it 8 starts as you can't hate this whiskey and defnietly is a very good whiskey if you want to introduce someone to scotch.

Mariano
Mariano,
Oh yes! This is a must. What a soft and powerful dram. It has a lot of flavors perfectly balanced, between sherry, caramel and spice. Love it.

This is a very exceptional breed, it has become a favorite of mine now as a sipping whiskey. Very smooth, I get the hints of caramel along with the hints of oak in the smell. Very nice..

Longueurs médium. Senteur de cerise et caramel. Sucre perceptible au goût peu épicé. Cerise bien présente.

Jason
Jason,
I have always put Balvene 14 at the top of my Scotch list once I switched from blended to single malt. The instant I tasted this, I knew I found a new number one. I am not a huge connoisseur… But I definitely know what I like and this is the best Scotch I’ve ever tasted.

You can't go wrong. If you're looking for a complicated, sweet malt whisky, but don't want to spend on 18 year+ whisky, try this on.

Bryan

I'm not sure what else you could ask for...complex with a smooth finish.
