The flagship of Canadian Whiskies is a blend of the finest that Canada has to offer.
Crown Royal is "THE" Canadian Whisky. Sure, you might argue preference, but no one can argue that it is the top selling brand of Canadian Whisky in the world. Each day, their Manitoba Distillery alone consumes 10,000 bushels of grain and 3.4 million liters of water, and there are more than two million barrels of Whisky aging in the complex of 46 warehouses. On top of all that, they do a darn good job of producing a consistently high quality, clean-drinking, Canadian-styled Spirit that has won the hearts of many Whisky-lovers. And their famous velvet bags embracing each bottle are collected and re-used by their legion of raving fans.
By our last count, Crown Royal has a seventeen varieties in their current lineup that might still be available here and there. But Crown Royal Canadian Whisky is the dram at the center of it all. It was first created in 1939 to celebrate the royal visit of King George VI. But the quality of the blend was so good and the edition was so popular that it remained and became the central identifying brand of the entire company. This is a blend of 50different Whiskies that are famously combined "like baking a cake" to craft the signature profile. The exact mix of mash bills and ages is left unknown and the Canadians are too polite to ask. But by law, all of them must be aged at least three years.
A good everyday drinking whiskey, easy to pallet smooth finish a little bit of bite caramel coloring nothing exceptional nothing disappointing!
My go to for the weekends
If you want a whiskey without that pleasant burn and a light after taste, this is the whiskey for you. That said it does taste ok. Just he nothing special.
Tastes like every other Canadian blended whisky.
Love it. This is one of my go to.
One of my go to whiskeys. Good with or without ice.
Smooth, really smooth. Crown is my go-to whiskey! 🥃 Crown is a very nice blend of 23.
Good over ice and/or coke
use with mixers
When the party comes this is what we drink
Not my favorite but still good
Go to whiskey for whiskey and cokes. Cheap and drinkable
Crown Royal whiskey is another great whiskey to drink
Crown Royal Vanilla might be my all time favorite... so far!
Enough sweet flavor to drink straight. Mix in a little soda & you have a drink for the masses.
Mellow and smooth, great on the rocks or mixed.
Makes a nice ginger crown, or on the rocks.
The only Canadian Whiskey in my bar
With a perfumy nose and a weak vanilla alcohol flavor, Crown just doesn’t do if for me. I keep it around for guests that can’t handle real whiskey. ; ) Does mix well with Twisted Tea or ginger ale.
Not objectionable, but nothing I’d order on purpose. It’s like whisky flavored vodka. Good for a mixer. Full disclosure: Not a big Canadian whiskey fan, but I’ve only tried a few.
Never had Crown without coke or ginger ale. So this is my first try as sipping. Smells great out of the bottle. Not to much burn on first sip.. Gets better as you go. Kind of pricey for a blended Canadian whiskey, but good to have around in your home bar.
Over priced for a blended Canadian whiskey. Cheaper version are available at half the cost,
It's very good. But the Black is so much better!!
Can't ever go wrong with crown. Extremely smooth slightly chilled or room temperature for best drink. All flavors are good peach, vanilla, and apple
I have been drinking Crown for many years and have switched many friends to it due to its smooth and flavorful finish.
When there is nothing else around Crown is where it is at.
Been drinking crown for a long time. Good straight, on the rocks, or as a mixer.
My favorite and go to drink
Multitude of flavors just come up front with this whiskey. Every home bar needs some Crown. Good for mixing.
Solid basic bottle. Good for mixing.
My favorite Whiskey that isn't a Bourbon. Love the fancy purple bag and box display. Love all the different flavors (especially Peach). Great in Coke and good on ice. Crushed a few handles of this living with Hans, Max and Frankie.
An excellent sipping whiskey for almost any occasion.
Sweet toast, a good regular go to.
This one is just a classic budget go to. My uncle and I have always shared Crown on Christmas Eve and it is truly a tradition I enjoy.
Been My go to since before I realized it was Whiskey
My wife’s go too.
Love it! My go to at most bars that don't have a great selection. ;-)
Crown Royal Black is my favorite. Smooth but deep dark caramel flavor. My #1
The variations and flavors that CR offers add to its long history of excellent drinkability. Yet there’s just something about the original that keeps me coming back. The smooth, gentle burn will always be my go-to hooch.
Smooth, a hint of sweetness. Not too expensive.
My favorite end-of-the-day sip.
I love to mix my Crown with a little soda.
My standard “go-to” bottle
Good, but not full bodied
Sweet....oh just a bit. Good mixer, lots of starters.
Solid drink. My go-to canadian
Smooth. Great with water
Smoothness in a bottle.
Really enjoy this in mixed drinks.
Decent, easy drinking
Crown and coke. Always a favorite.
My goto whisky, over ice, it's nice!
Boring sweetness and alcohol taste. Maybe metallic note. Would not drink straight.
Crown Royal is a must have for my bar. Crown and coke or Crown Mules are excellent. For sipping, I prefer Crown Royal XO.
I like the harshness of the taste.
Goes well with Coke/Sprite.
Good room temp. And cold.
Good for mixed drinks or sipping
This is my go to. Smooth finish, but gets sweet after a few
Crown Royal Regal Apple. A little too sweet. Smells great though.
This with some sprite and you're good to go, better yet the apple crown with sprite tastes like an apple candy.
It's the apple Crown I drink the most. That's what I'm voting on.
Smooth, sweet, slight smoke, easy to drink neat
My favorite go-to whiskey. I drink it every evening.
Peach - Makes a great mixer. The peach flavor really comes out in this. I am quite impressed that the peach does not take away the always good, Crown flavors.
My everyday favorite with Coke
Easy and drinkable go too
Smooth, facil de beber en las rocas pero como q tiene sabor neutral, nada de especial. Me gusta mas el de apple de crown.
Great basic taste
Great for introducing new people to whiskey. At 40% abv, it's pretty smooth for an inexpensive dram. On it's own it doesn't do much for me...not very complex. Will always be solid choice for making mixed drinks.
A good whisky for its price. Can typically be found on sale to get a fifth for $20. A solid taste for cocktails, but not that great as a stand-alone whisky. A little on the sweet side
Good smooth drink. Very enjoyable!
Good all around whiskey. Mix with your favorite soda or straight.
Enjoyable drinkable flavorful
My favorite drink while on the rocks.
My go-to and easy basr
Crown Apple is one of my favorite sipping whiskeys. The other crowns are good for mixing.
Definitely a mixer. Best for all night parties at my Craps table with some ginger ale and muttled cranberries
My all time favorite on the rocks or Crown Press.
Classic, easy to drink whiskey for beginners and experience spirit lovers. This is easy on the wallet and great taste for the price.
Great for mixing, and not too harsh on the rocks
Been a solid go to for years. Has not let me down.
A holiday favorite.
Great, affordable standard
My go to inexpensive whiskey.
nice smooth flavors pairs well with mixers
Not even middle of the road. A more expensive whiskey at par with most bottom shelf whiskeys.
Very sweet, all the flavours are muddled into a flat palate. The only thing this is good for is putting it into something that covers the taste.
First whiskey I ever liked. Very sweet. Good in a coke.
Crown Royal was my introduction to decent whisky, and my go-to for a number of years after college before my tastes "matured" a bit and I began experimenting with more flavorful/sophisticated/bold whiskys & bourbons. Still a staple in my bar, but now just for mixed drinks vs. on the rocks. Will always hold a special place in my heart, which counts for 1 extra star from me vs. what it likely deserves.
Middle of the road. Pairs well with anything that keeps you from tasting it. Better than drinking water!
Middle of the road smooth but the flavors are muted
Not may favorite but not bad if your in college trying to find a good buzz
It's ok. Not my favorite.
Crown apple fan through and through
Good whiskey from the North
Crown Royal is a great value with good flavor and not that expensive making it the perfect go to whiskey.
Classic favorite, hard to beat.
This is a steady at my side regular on the rocks or neat. Provides a good value for those on a budget but with a need to enjoy the finer things.
Sour notes up front. Not much of a bite at first but does develop after some time.
Nice flavor & bite. Rye is my go to
I've always had a love for crown royal original
I'm not big on Canadian whisky, but you can't go wrong with Crown. Sweet and smooth.
Didn't care for the taste.
Only for mixing drinks. Bought the apple version, goes great with sprite and a splash of cranberry
This is my go to Drink, usually with Ginger Ale.
I love crown. Straight or mixing in pepsi or coke. Generally what I drink so I dont drink my other whiskeys.
Doesn’t have a strong rubbing alcohol taste and is spiced well.
To harsh on the back end.
Good, prefer to have this if I am mixing it.
I love Crown Royal.
Nice maple flavor to it
It's nice. I liked it with ice. Not so much neat. It's light and sweet. I think I'm tasting vanilla and has a mild finish.
Nice strong but pleasing flavors.
clean and smooth
SEHR fruchtige Nase, Geschmack etwas einfach, kein bleibender Eindruck. Leicht zu trinken.
09/18 - Vancouver
Standard go to whiskey with a simple palate
Was one of the first whiskeys I sampled. Has a special place in my heart.
One of my first whiskys ... ah, memory lane! So it holds a sentimental spot in my bar. I probably wouldn't drink it anymore otherwise ... it is a bit weak. It seems watered down to me now. But it is still an enjoyable dram. And the price is reasonable. So I enjoy it and reflect on times gone by.
My favorite whisky
So smooth and flavorful.
Very smooth, easy drinking
A little on the sweet side for personal tastes. Common drink, prefer to go for some of the more off the beaten path labels.
Good cheap everyday whiskey
Gets the job done
Love the Apple and Vanilla flavor!
solid whisky - but usually use it as a mixing whisky. Sprite!
First whiskey so it is automatically a classic in my book.
Good. Great on a hot day..cold day..any day.
Crown is fine. I typically only use it for mixing.
Always a favorite
Smooth but i add cole or if apple flavored i add seven up or sprite
Crown Royal is my all time go to drink!
Enjoy the green apple.
My fav mixing whiskey, but excellent neat, too.
Just the best
Just one of whiskeys that never gets old
Very fond of the Reserve.
Very smooth. No bite. Goes well with a fine cigar!
Smooth, the Canadians have done well with this whiskey. Hints of fruit, and ever so lightly brushed with smoke.
Crown is always a good go to drink, especially for those who like a mixer.
My everyday go to
An easy every day whisky that's affordable and can be taken neat or mixed. Hints of vanilla are a nice aromatic touch.
if i could only order one drink it would be Crown Royal on the rocks with a splash of water.
Always good with a couple ice cubes and water
Love it. Favorite whiskey by far. Nice smooth taste. Great with a splash of ginger ale
The staple in my whisky bar...flavorful enough to sip neat or on the rocks and affordable enough that I can look the other way when people use it in mixed drinks
A bit pricey for what you get. Used to love it, now I'm spoiled.
Not as smooth as Crown Black
I believe this to be the best of the inexpensive whiskeys. A good everyday drink or to be mixed
Nice sipping whiskey
One of the smoother and richer one's not to over powering in spice's
smooth and sweet
The goto for the golf course.
For special occasions, and when I have now aged DEW.
is an outstanding, rich, blended whisky with a birth of honey & oak, a life of creamy fruit & vanilla, that leads to a long & smooth death filled with rye & spice.
Sweet, great for sipping or mixing
Favorite and go to
Excellent Canadian style whisky
Huge fan. Been drinking it for years. Both blue and red XRs are solid. Favorite variety of CR is the "Black" version. Excellent.
The classic, enjoyable drink.
Very nice sippin' whiskey. Canadian whiskeys have always traditionally been very smooth to me. I've had the straight Royal Crown, Apple and maple. I do not care for the maple.
Nice front flavor but dry on the back end. Great color and serves we'll both chilled and at room temperature.
One of my staples
Been drinking for 25+ years. I'm never without a bottle on hand. I prefer drinking on the rocks. The taste is smooth and relaxing.
