Price aside, I thought this was outstanding! I sampled it a few times before my review. Each time, I noticed zero ethanol on the nose. Absolutely smooth. Nice praline and candied pecan notes, caramel, a non-overpowering oakyness, and a subtle spice to balance things out. I really likely the lack of spice in this. It has a slight warm finish which was not that long, but by no means was this hot. Smell is beautiful. I’m so excited about this purchase! No regrets. Though, never in a million years would I condone this price gouging. This bottle is NOT worth $286. If I were a millionaire, I wouldn’t pay more than MSRP which is $129. There are plenty of great bourbons out there for half the price. But if all whiskey were free, 8.5 for this one.
Good bourbon but Flaviar has this price way too high. I just bought a bottle of this for $100 in my local store here in California. Price gouging has to stop. We all know bourbon is great but not at these prices. “Let us taste”
Good product, but $125 in stores. Come on Flaviar. You are great in so many other regards regarding education materials, but this price gouging HAS TO STOP!! This is insulting to your members who pay $300-400 per year to see these types of pricing. I'll buy into some of the BS for vault stuff--which is still a horrible rip off--but just don't offer it if you are going to quote prices such as these. This is insulting for people that truly enjoy trialing spirits :(
