I liked this. The bite is a bit much, initially. The taste is peppery, smoothing out to a unique after taste. Perhaps a bit of lemony, sugar fading to a nice semi-smooth wood! All in all a good mid level whiskey!
Amazingly smooth. What a spicy delight!

What a great single malt!
Pretty damn good!
Smooth as silk!
Smooth sweet taste with a slight after bite.
strong spice + sweet
It is an outstanding, complex, 'Single Malt Whisky that has an aromatic birth; while a rich & bold life lead to a long & tropical death with notes of orange zest, dark red fruits & a hint of molasses.
Orange. Orange nose. Orange taste. There is really no other way to describe this whisky other than orange. Want to call it orange zest? Fine. Orange marmalade? Sure. Want to make it more exotic and use other languages? You got it! Naranja! Arancia! Aurantiaco! But in the end, while this has all the staples of whisky, someone clearly tried to set this one apart and thought to themselves, "What's something you don't get a lot in whiskies? ORANGE WHISKY! Brilliant!" (English whisky. See what I did there?)
Nice sipping whiskey with a long finish
Nice whisky, very spicy with butterscotch notes.
Smells and taste good. Vanilla smell with some caramel. Tasty. Do not add water.
Fruity sweet with spice to start. The spice never actually hits hard though. Pretty smooth overall
Spicy but not overpowering...fruit smell is stronger than the taste for me..very smooth.
Definitely enjoyed this one...nice spice and fruit
Spicier than you expect after the light and sweet nose.
Subtle notes of peach immediately followed by a mildly spicy finish. Easy to drink and mild.
Nicely balanced flavor profile. Gentle smoke with some fruity and sweet notes. Reminds me a bit of a highland whisky like Dalwhinnie. Pleasant surprise
Spice up front, but finishes smooth. One ice cube really mellowed it out and made it quite enjoyable.
Really nice whisky to kick off the Advent calendar! Right up my ally with notes of honey, butterscotch, and spice! Love this whiskey service so much!
Delightful! With its subtle peach flavor and smooth finish, I can't wait to get a bottle of this.
Spicy and citrusy but goes down smooth.
Light golden colored. Aroma of fruit (pear, apple, peach). Some burn and spice up front but quickly dissipates. Very fruity with hints of orange, pear, peach, honey, and sugar. Nice mouthfeel, a bit oily but still light. Finish had some spice along with lingering fruit and sugar.
Surprised at how well I liked it. Spicy at first, but still getting the fruit and and slightly sweet flavors. Added a few drops of water and spicy was gone - fruit and sweet now predominant. My wife really liked it and she likes smoky scotch too.
I agree that the sweet notes came out with a drop of water or on the rock. It had a hint of smoke, but was mostly
sweet. Thanks for making this advent calendar!!
Fruity, especially the peach. Comes out more with ice
Day 1 of the 2019 Flaviar advent calendar - nice one to start it with. Very smooth and sweet single malt, easy to drink. I’m a bourbon guy first and a rum guy second so I favor whiskeys that aren’t real dank/Smokey and more dessert-like, like this one
Spice at first, and it gives way to lite essence of fruit. Nice mouth feel and good long finish.
Color is amber. Nose starts with a little ethanol, but quickly passes to honey and fruits, both citrus and sweeter ripe stonefruit. Beneath that is mild butterscotch. First sip is spicey, with fairly intense baking spices and black pepper followed by a a malty mid-palate and a deliciously sweet citrus and peach late palate. Additional sips show notes of caramel and more fruit. Mouthfeel is creamy.
Smooth, no bitter aftertaste. Refreshing and full bodied.
Lovely heavy oily mouth feel thanks to leaving out the chill filtration. Complex fruit without smoke or peat. Soft but complex. Easy to enjoy. The fruit marries beautifully with the ex-bourbon wood notes. Long aftertastes. Beautiful in a gentle package.
One word “EXCLENT”
Smooth and complex. Lovely fruit integrated with the barrel notes. No smoke or peat. A favorite.
Different on the nose, unique is a good word. Very smooth on the palate. Different
Terrific whisky with a unique flavor I was not expecting!
A really fine whisky. I wasn't sure what to expect from an English single malt, but it really stands out. Not as smokey as Scotch (at least those I prefer), but with the sweetness and burn of a really good American whiskey. I will definitely enjoy again.
