Character Goatson
Swanky Scottish Blend for Hedonists

Compass Box, the Scottish artisanal Whisky maker has become a shorthand for adventure and mouth-watering stunts. They create custom barrels from premium oak, pick the best Whiskies their specially trained goats can find, and concoct mind-boggling blends. We’re joking about the goats, obviously. Founded in 2000 by John Glaser, Johnnie Walker’s former Mad Man, the company constantly pushes the envelope, so to speak.

Then, one day, Tim from Paris called John and asked him if he could create something very special. You know Tim – the one from Juveniles Bistrot a Vins from the 1st arrondissement, the hangout for writers, winemakers, Spirits creators and hedonists. Anyway, John picked five Whiskies from four Scottish distilleries and blended them into a snazzy potion that’s bright, smooth and palatial – like Paris. It’s a drink one does not drink alone; you’ll need your best pals and heaps of great food. And you’ll have to toast saying “Santé Sláinte!” "

Dog Dogson's Smartass corner
Character Dogson
Scotch Whisky is seldom aged in new barrels. Bourbon and Tennessee Whiskey casks are usually used for maturation. In addition to that, Whisky is often matured or finished in various wine casks such as Sherry or Port.
90% of all Scotch Whiskies sold are Blends.
90% of all Scotch Whisky released in the market is a blend. That’s a hell of a lot.
Whisky distilling goes way back to 1494 when the first recorded batch was made by a posse of monks who acquired about 60 gallons of barley and decided to turn it into "aqua vitae". They created the first 1,500 bottles of Scotch in History.
Can Scotch go bad? Technically, an unopened bottle of Scotch can last forever. Air is the only true evil to Whisky; once the liquid is oxidized it is no longer immortal. After opening, as long as you store your Whisky in a cool, dry place, it will last another 5 years.
Whisky or Whiskey? The spelling differs geographically. In Scotland, Japan, and some other parts of the world, distilleries usually spell it Whisky; in Ireland and the USA, they spell it Whiskey.
