This Whisky is produced at the Chita distillery, and is made with grains such as corn, wheat, rye. The taste profile is rather light and delicate. The brand has different grain Whiskies including a Distiller's Edition, 12 year old, and single grain.

They have been releasing expressions since 1972, which are all light and delicate, consisting of different Whiskies of different ages. It is bottled at 43% ABV, and labeled with Chita's named spelled out in traditional Japanese caligraphy.

Chita's grain Whisky is essential, because other Japanese distilleries tend to use Canadian grain Whisky if they don't own a grain distillery.


Chita Distillery is located in Aichi Prefecture, close to a village with the same name. It was founded in 1972 by Suntory Ltd.

Grain Whiskies from Chita are often used in the production of Hibiki, Kakubin and Suntory Old. Column stills are used in order to distill grains other than barley, mostly corn.
