Back in 1923, the Caroni Distillery was established in Trinidad. It was one of fifty distilleries there, until the sugar cane industry slowly collapsed. In 2002, Caroni was closed down and demolished - as if it had never existed.

This Rum is supposed to be the oldest remaining stock out of 1500 bottles, a true history in a bottle. It was distilled in 1974 and bottled in 2008. Its complex nose and long palate paint a lush classic Caribbean Rum, an echo of a long-lost era.
