Cabin Still Bourbon has a long and distinguished history. A series of mergers and acquisitions and brand favoritism damaged the brand, but over the last few decades the quality of Cabin Still has recovered within the Bourbon market.
It is a low-end value brand, but it is aged for three years and made by Heaven Hill, who got the brand by accident while horse-trading spirits.
With notes of butterscotch on the nose, and oak on the palate, with a short finish and light alcohol burn, it goes well with cocktails like Mint Julips.
