A stunningly old Irish Single Malt aged in rare Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks.

Bushmills is one of the most popular and enduring Irish Whiskies. Hugh Anderson registered the company in 1784 in the town of Bushmills and, after a few fits and starts, they have been in continuous operation and growing since 1885. Jose Cuervo purchased the Old Bushmills Distillery from Diageo in 2014, but those corporate blokes know to stay out of the way of Irishman crafting their Whiskey. Bushmills currently has six Whiskies in their core lineup in addition to special editions and releases.

Normally, Bushmills is aged in Oloroso Sherry casks. As the name implies, Bushmills PX Sherry Cask 28 Year Old has aged fro twenty-eight years in Pedro Ximenez casks. And that is a lot of time. In fact, it’s the oldest Bushmills Single Malt ever produced in PX casks. It was distilled during the Bush Administration… the first one. Sir Mix-a-lot was at the top of the music charts.

The word "zeitgeist" means "Spirit of the Times." Bushmills PX Sherry Cask 28 Year Old is a Spirit that takes you back in time in all the right ways.

Smartass Corner:
We hear all the time about Whiskies aging and finishing in either Oloroso Sherry or Pedro Ximenez (PX) Sherry casks. What’s the difference? Oloroso Casks develop flavors of caramel, walnut, and stewed fruits. PX casks are sweeter and darker with notes of rancio (fig/raisin/prune), toffee, and crème brûlée.
