A classic Irish Single Malt aged for a quarter century in three premium woods for the win.
Bushmills is one of the most popular and enduring Irish Whiskies. Hugh Anderson registered the company in 1784 in the town of Bushmills and, after a few fits and starts, they have been in continuous operation and growing since 1885. Jose Cuervo purchased the Old Bushmills Distillery from Diageo in 2014, but those corporate blokes know to stay out of the way of Irishman crafting their Whiskey. Bushmills currently has six Whiskies in their core lineup in addition to special editions and releases.
Bushmills Marsala Cask 25 Year Old 1995 is packed with surprises. It’s actually a triple wood. The core Bushmills Single Malt was aged for ten years in ex-Bourbon and Sherry casks. Then the Spirit is married and placed in Marsala casks to age for the balance of a quarter century. Can you imagine the depth and complexity that develops with all that wonderful age in all those gorgeous casks? Well, you don’t have to imagine… you can have a bottle or two for yourself while they last.
