Fernando,
I love this whiskey. Great balance of flavors and very unique among the Islay whiskeys.

David,
Complex and delicious with a touch of smoke at the end. Will be buying another bottle of this.

Jasson,
One of my new favorite distilleries to buy. This is excellent dram for sherry-cask lovers. The sherry is right up front, but not overpowering - and it slowly gives way to all the fruit and spice. The smoke is there, but I think it's muted a bit by the surrounding flavors. Love this bottle. I had a bottle of their Stiùireadair earlier this year and loved it as well. Similar flavors but in different levels.

Stephanie,
Nice smokeyness about it. A little burn going down. Nice finish

Shane,
I didn't want to rate this until I sat down for a second time with the bottle. Color - Lovely golden walnut color. Nose - Vanilla, Dark Fruits, Raisins, Fruit Cake... very pleasant and lovely nose. Taste - muted, oak spices, slight nutty flavor, tinge of earthiness... overall not as tasty as some other Single Malts I have had. Finish - It does linger, kind of better than the actual tasting. To me there is more after you have swallowed then mid swig. Would I buy this again once this bottle is gone? Unlikely... would I try a different finish in the future or age? Most certainly!

Eric,
Not much flavor development, comparable to Johnny Red

James,
Fantastic scotch. A little sweet, a little salty and a little smoky. Great complexity and dangerously smooth.

Juan,
Nice one. Complex combination of flavors. The sweet and smoky combination make it different. Worth to be tried.

Richard,
if this were a baseball game, I thought the 12 would have been a doubles hitter - turns out the 12 is a power hitter... a delicious scotch... don't come to this Islay scotch if you are looking for lots of peat and come here with an explosion of flavors

Richard,
a drop (just a drop!) of water turns this delicious scotch into a great scotch.... warm, smoky, oaky and a hint of sherry.....

Christina,
Smooth and smoky. Nice peat.

Seth,
Great spice and smoke combo. Nothing quite like it!

guest,
I guess I don't like sherry cask finished scotches. This was my first sherry finished sxotcht. I can appreciate the complexity, and it is really smooth. The sherry notes just didn't taste as good as I'd imagined.

Mark,
This is my new go to price per performance scotch. Smooth with a hint of smoke and vanilla and toffee. If like smoke but don't want to be the only thing you taste.

John,
This one consistently wins our blind Scotch tasting parties. Just superb. Well worth the money.

Michael,
Very nice step up from the 12, although similar, but with added peat which makes it perfect

Richard,
It's not the 18, but that's about all the bad I can say about this. Great scotch. Sweet, apples, salt, carmel, spice, hint of smoke, nutty oaky finish. Nothing not to like. Would always have available.

Richard,
This IS my favorite dram. Hard to beat. It's an emotional experience every time I sip it. Is got amazing balance. There is just enough smoke and spice to make you notice but it's delicious and sweet, with that sightly salty nutty flavor. It is truly amazing.

William,
OK but not what I expected from Islay. Very good, just not peaty. Wouldn’t turn it down though!

Jason,
Lovely notes of vanilla and toffee with a little oak. Very smooth. Winning whiskey.

Scott,
Sweet and smoky both smell and taste. Candied fruits and mild smoke.. Very mild burn and gentle warming, drinkable neat or with a few drips of water.

Chris,
love the peat smoke on this bottle! will definitely make you want to fire up the grill!
Bunnahabhain Stiùireadair
Matt,
Smooth scotch and definitely not as peaty as other Islay scotches. Very good neat or a whiskey stone; I tried it with ice and it lost a lot of flavor. Great scotch at a very decent price for such a top rated distillery

Dan,
On the nose there is a subtle smokiness, followed by spice notes, and hints of oak. On first sip, there is heat, a bit of the edge of a young whisky. The palate opens gradually to bring the sweet sherry elements, balanced with oak, and then lingering pepper. A medium to long finish. It is a very balanced dram, a mix of the smoke and sherry, with a little spicy, peppery, heat that brings a drier end than one might anticipate. It is a really fun variation off of the classic Bunnahabhain 12, a younger and smokier offspring.

David,
Usually a Bourbon and Irish guy, but I decided to try to get into peat. I've tried peated whisk(e)y before but it was too much for me, hence why I got this one. Now that I bought a bottle, I have to ask myself why I waited so long to buy this one. Even for a neck pour, I knew that this was my new favorite scotch. Fruity, silky and sticky mouthfeel, caramels, vanillas, some spice and minor smokiness at the end. If this is the start of the bottle, I can only imagine how wonderful it will be when it opens up!

Anna,
Lighter Lagavulin 16, less overwhelming.

Great combination of smoke and beautiful sweetness. This should be a staple in the cabinet.

DANIEL,
I was going back and forth with whether I thought this scotch or Ardbeg 10 was my favorite. It's hard to decide but I think Bunnahabhain is a wonderful smoky selection that I'm going to keep stocked at home.

Daniel,
Great peat flavor

Steve,
Pretty good overall; smoother than the other 16 YO, which surprised me.

Lars,
Personally one of my favourite Islay whiskies. Very subtle scent of burnt sugar and liquorice and menthol. One of those islay that you never get tired of. The palate makes its clear some smokiness and fudge flavours. I prefer it at room temperature.
Bunnahabhain Stiùireadair
Kip,
This is a smooth, lighter scotch. It is a good beginner or a great gift scotch. A nice peat, smoky flavor that is not overpowering. Something you would share with friends that are not big scotch drinkers, but may want to start after having this.

Craig,
Peat and smoke!!! So good. It fills my mouth with memories of camping in Montana, cutting wood and a roaring camp fire. I can taste a little pine and smell the fresh mountain air.

SCOTT,
Ripe banana, honey, pepper. No peat. Like a good rye.

Victor,
A bit disappointing for me. I am generally a fan of Bunnahabhain, but this one falls short. Pleasant enough , but fades fast with little after the initial flavor profiles.

Dianne,
Too smoky

Judy,
At the time, I professed to be in the Bourbon camp, and tricky with scotch. I loved this.
Bunnahabhain Stiùireadair
Robert,
Very smooth, especially when a small ice cube was added. The light peat flavor actually deepens and enriches the flavors in my view. An excellent representative of Islay.
Bunnahabhain Stiùireadair
Matthew,
Not a big scotch fan, but this was exceptionally smooth.

Bruce,
I truly enjoy this scotch. It takes the place of a bourbon about once a week. I have been a little disappointed with some of the bourbons I have purchased lately. I have decided to purchase scotch for awhile and see what I can find.
Bunnahabhain 12 Year Old
bill,
Not a favorite. It was a standard whisky without many flavors to pick out. Very simple
Bunnahabhain 12 Year Old
Scott,
Very nice. Light peat, just a hint. Top quality for a 12.

Troy,
This has been my go-to for Islay Scotch. While I do love the others out there, this isn't as overbearing with the smokiness which I love. Has great flavor and just enough smoke.
Bunnahabhain 12 Year Old
Tonya,
Very easy to drink. Slight smoky taste on the finish but not overwhelming.
Bunnahabhain 12 Year Old
Mark,
Really nice. The smoke and sherry mix well. Smooth body and good long finish.
