The gentler side of the Islay flavor chart found in Bunnahabhain (buːnəˈhævən) presents a true breath of fresh air in Islay's offerings. Sending it on holiday down south to explore some warmer climate around the Andalusian ports didn't hurt it either.

This "coastal" expression spent its entire life span (11 years) in Manzanilla Sherry casks, infusing it with rich and intriguing notes of salted caramel, dried fruit, and chocolate.

Investigating -- and to the surprise and thrill of everyone -- they found a single cask of Whisky in storage that no one knew about. It was now aged a full 40 years.
First-class Whiskies are taxed not only by the state but also by the angels. This refers to the 4% of Whisky that evaporates from the barrels every year, a phenomenon known as the angel’s share.
Can Scotch go bad? Technically, an unopened bottle of Scotch can last forever. Air is the only true evil to Whisky; once the liquid is oxidized it is no longer immortal. After opening, as long as you store your Whisky in a cool, dry place, it will last another 5 years.
In 2012, a batch of old ledger books from the early 1960s were found in storage. Looking over the entries out of curiosity, one of the cellar-masters noticed an entry that he did not recognize, giving a storage location.
Is Scotch always Scottish? What do you think? Yes. The answer is yes.
90% of all Scotch Whiskies sold are Blends.
