My bottle is actually the Bulleit 95 Rye (which uses a 95% rye mash), but Flaviar didn't have the 95 Rye in their home bar list so I chose this one. I drank it on a big square ice cube
The nose has what I consider typical of a rye: Booze, spice, wood, and a slight syrupy character.
Also typical of rye, it tastes and feels really boozy for the first 5-10 minutes. After it mellows out, it's clean, crisp, and still a bit boozy. Sitting on the palate it's spicy, woody, and has some hints of peat and black licorice.
My wife forbids the 7/10 rating in all circumstances because it's kind of a "cop out" answer, but that's what this rye gets because it's neither bad nor notable.
Great everyday Rye for old Fashioned's or Manhattans. Nice spice with good flavor. Hints of vanilla and pepper.
Great, “everyday” whiskey. Perfect for Manhattans!
Makes wonderful old fashions and mint juleps.
This Rye Bourbon is great for Old Fashions, Manhattans. Smooth characteristics, and an overall great Bourbon.
My go to for mixed drinks like Manhattans
Great tasting and smooth finish
Great Rye for making Manhattans.
Bulleit Bourbon Frontier Whiskey: smooth
I really liked the taste of this whiskey. It wasn’t too harsh on the tongue.
Nice balanced rye
Good rye - makes another great Old Fashioned.
Only had a small bottle, but was very good.
Wasn't bad just to dry for my taste.
Excellent rye with minimal bitterness
One of my favorite ryes
This bottle is trouble!! I get into it and it’s gone before I know it. So smooth!!
A recent discovery, it has quickly made its way into my repertoire and into one of my favorites.
Easy to drink. Very smooth.
Great choice for serving on the rocks. A load of initial taste and a smooth finish.
Harsher than the regular whiskey.
Go to. Mostly used in old fashioned
While I'm not a fan of the underwhelming-in-my-opinion regular Bulleit bourbon, Bulleit Rye (the green label) is special. Sweet & spicy in a wonderful marriage that leaves you wanting another sip. Enough punch to hold up well in a Manhattan, but pleasant enough to be a casual sipper in a neat pour.
My first rye, its smooth with hints of vanilla and a subtle spiciness to it.
Favorite go to "every day" rye
Really good - spicyness of the rye is not too overpowering....tasty
Go to in old fashioned
As of right now, probably my favorite Rye. Goes down so smooth...
I love Bulleit Rye. It starts of with a sharp warmth and just makes me feel like I’m sitting in front of a warm fireplace on a cold night.
Love it. Not the best rye I’ve ever had but consistently good.
Goes down like water, tastes awesome
This is my every day, go to, fallback drink. I like it on the rocks with a splash of water.
great with a coke
Best for the Old Fashioned, the Manhattan or neat
Its okay but not a fan
Very smooth Rye whiskey. But quickly changed flavor in the light and heat. But that first sip is heavenly.
Good mix of spicy and sweet. Good in its own, great in cocktails.
A rye worth buying. Nothing exciting but enough to be interesting to drink. Would buy again.
Possibly better than the bourbon. Not quite as spicy as I'd think
Go-to for cocktails!
One of the best eyes on the market
Best whisky ever
Tasty dram. Not the smoothest Rye I've had but very flavorful.
Mouthful of rye! Good spice, and opens up further with a little branch water. Classic MGP finish.
One of the best.
Good level of rye spice without being overpowering.
