In 1995, Buffalo Trace tucked away what would become some of the most prized Kentucky Bourbons of recent years. Named after the originally christened distillery name the Old Fashioned Copper (O.F.C.) from 1870, these expressions showcase the oldest and best barrels of yesteryear and are especially coveted among collectors.

The 25-year-old is only the fifth member of their collectible O.F.C. Vintage line made available to the public. Bottled at 90 Proof, this vintage comes in an elegant, hand-cut crystal decanter with inlaid copper lettering, housed inside a wooden display case.

Expect cherry cordial on the nose followed by caramel and smoked oak, flavors of dark chocolate, tobacco leaves, and dates found on the palate, while the lingering finish is characterized by leather, black pepper, and cinnamon.

*This bottle is a collector’s item; we will not be able to entertain any refunds or exchanges.

Whisky or Whiskey? The spelling differs geographically. In Scotland, Japan, and some other parts of the world, distilleries usually spell it Whisky; in Ireland and the USA, they spell it Whiskey.
Bourbon only needs to be placed in a new oak container for a few seconds to be called Bourbon. Fresh from the still and unaged Bourbon is called a White Dog. Recently, many of the larger distillers have started packaging this harsh, clear grain spirit for sale.
The Buffalo Trace Distillery was one of the few production facilities that was allowed to remain in operation during Prohibition for "medicinal purposes."
Bourbon Is a ''new barrel Spirit'': One of the legal requirements for Bourbon is that it only be aged in brand new oak charred barrels.
"Remember that iconic poster from World War II showing Rosie the Riveter as a patriotic American woman doing her part for the war effort? Well, hundreds of businesses did their part too, and the Bourbon distillers stepped right up with ‘em.

Distilleries all over Kentucky and Tennessee were re-tooled to distill fuel alcohol and ferment penicillin cultures to treat wounded soldiers."
Bourbons are very high in vanilla, as American White Oak is naturally high in vanillins.
