Top reviews for Bruichladdich Octomore 10.4:
— Fantastic. It’s my favorite bottle. Surprisingly complex for being as young as it is. I wish I could always have a bottle available.
— Huge nose when opening bottle. Notes of fruit, oak and leather and of course peat; this is an Islay scotch after all. Recommend some water to be added - bottled at 127 proof heat up the mouth quickly unless applying slight dilution. The the nose translates to the taste with added peat and berries. The finish is loooong. The downside is the price. I use Octomore for those very special occasions. For a more everyday enjoyment, I enjoy another Islay malt - Laphoroaig Cairdeas Triple Wood, using both bourbon and sherry casks. Great way to pass time while awaiting this virus to pass so I can go out and play some golf.
