Character Goatson
A 1989 vintage from the Bruichladdich distillery and a very unusual whisky indeed; this was aged for 18 years in bourbon casks, before a finish in Kosher wine casks from the Carmel winery in Israel. La'chaim!

Is Scotch always Scottish? What do you think? Yes. The answer is yes.
Whisky or Whiskey? The spelling differs geographically. In Scotland, Japan, and some other parts of the world, distilleries usually spell it Whisky; in Ireland and the USA, they spell it Whiskey.
90% of all Scotch Whisky released in the market is a blend. That’s a hell of a lot.
Bruichladdich is one of the few distilleries that dedicates 100% of production to their broad range of single malt Whisky.
First-class Whiskies are taxed not only by the state but also by the angels. This refers to the 4% of Whisky that evaporates from the barrels every year, a phenomenon known as the angel’s share.
Bruichladdich is the largest single employer on the island with 60 full-time staff, and various temp and contract personnel.
