Campbeltown Scotch

Campbeltown, the peninsula east of Islay, used to be the Whisky capital of the World in the 19th century. There were 34 active distilleries at some point in history, but today, only three are left - and they’re wildly diverse.

Springbank Scotch is smoky and robust, Glen Scotia is light and grassy, while Glengyle builds its resurrected brand on rich citrusy flavors.

Fun fact: some Campbeltown Whiskies are known for their “wet dog” flavor, which is an acquired taste: it smells like a wooly jumper you’ve left on the rain and forgot to dry and tastes kinda earthy and minerally. Woof.
