Exceptional even by Bowmore's standards, this highly acclaimed Bowmore 25 YO exhibits the finest qualities of the vessels it's been aged in. Aged in American Bourbon and Spanish Sherry casks, the aging influence combines perfectly with the coastal, smoky base we've come to expect from this Islay distillery.

It's the combination of the sea breeze, the peat-laden water from the River Laggan, the quality of the casks, and a sense of tradition that create this sublime, amber red, well-rounded, and balanced Single Malt.

A Whisky to be savored slowly, for sure, as the blend of herbs, toffee, hazelnut, Sherry, and peat take you to the mellow shores of the gentle, yet complex finish.

During World War II, Bowmore was closed for production. But they opened up their dock and offices for a local squadron of RAF Flying Boats, for anti-submarine warfare operations.
Categories of Scotch Whisky: Single malt, Blended malt (formerly called Vatted malt), blended, single grain and blended grain Scotch.
90% of all Scotch Whisky released in the market is a blend. That’s a hell of a lot.
In 2007, an unopened bottle of Bowmore bottled in 1850, was sold at auction for £29,400.
Can Scotch go bad? Technically, an unopened bottle of Scotch can last forever. Air is the only true evil to Whisky; once the liquid is oxidized it is no longer immortal. After opening, as long as you store your Whisky in a cool, dry place, it will last another 5 years.
Single Malt Scotch Whisky is made in Scotland using a pot still distillation process at a single distillery, with malted barley as the only grain ingredient. It must be matured in oak casks in Scotland for at least three years (most Single Malts are matured longer, though).
