Bourbon from the Big Apple.

Bootlegger Whiskey comes from the Prohibition Distillery, situated in Roscoe, New York. That’s right, it’s not just a name thing. Here we have a Bourbon Whiskey mashed, distilled and bottled on the outskirts of New York City. The distillery’s name celebrates a time in America’s history where drinking was outlawed but freedom prevailed. Speakeasies gave birth to women drinking in public, encouraged new forms of trade and distilling, and ultimately laid the groundwork for some of the most popular drinks and cocktails we know today. New York is never going to be a place where things are done on a small scale and the Prohibition Distillery have already been pumping out Gin and Vodka Spirit while we waited for the Whiskey.

Any self-respecting distillery celebrating prohibition has to have a quality American Bourbon though and Bootlegger 21 New York is exactly that. The product is named after the amendment that lifted Prohibition and is made exclusively from Corn grown in New York. With different barrel sizes being used for maturation the makers simply state that the Spirit is aged for as long as it needs depending on the Cask. By also only filtering the matured Whisky through a cotton mesh, the final product is proudly stamped with gluten-free and Kosher status. Not that we needed another reason to love New York City but oh boy do we now have one.

Ratings & Reviews
A decent drink, solid straight. Can taste the fundamentals - the mash stands out.
Tried this with some friends and we all tasted very different elements - personally I mostly got the chocolate and vanilla. I think it's a good whiskey if you're introducing someone to whiskeys for the first time.
shared it with my neighbor and we both enjoy it immensely. thank you
I love whiskey whether it is scotch, bourbon, Irish, Canadian, wheated whiskey or rye. However, this bottle has to be the worst I have ever tasted. I was very excited to try this bourbon. i was initially misled by the name thinking i was getting a 21 year whiskey, but even before receiving it in the mail I was fine with what I read and couldn't wait to enjoy a glass. What I found was a bland spirit which has spent way too little time in a flavorless barrel and might as well have been taken right from the still. Simply awful low -proof moonshine! Purchasing two bottles, I can honestly say I should have spent the $100 elsewhere.
A nice, crisp initial flavor on the tongue that finishes sweet with a touch of cinnamon. Definitely one I’ll buy again.
