BLUE STATE BOURBON

Both Red State and Blue State Bourbons were released by the Heaven Hill Distillery in 2012. In honor of the U.S. political “”red” Republican Party and “blue” Democratic party.

The colors were assigned at random with no real meaning, but simply as designators by the news media for the 2000 election year. The Red State / Blue State Bourbons were a marketing scheme.

People could “vote” by order shots of Bourbon in the bars and off the store shelves. The bottles are labeled differently, but the spirit inside is identical.

The Bourbon has been sporadically in production since its release, but there are still bottles for sale, even overseas. In terms of flavor it is a fairly straight-forward mid-range Bourbon.
