That’s a lotta cocktails. But don’t worry - we’ve done the hard part and rounded up the best Gin-themed events that London has to offer during the festival. Don’t miss out!
Hendrick’s Gin Tini Martini BarThe curiously quirky brand is running a three night celebration of the most classic of Gin cocktails, the Martini. But in true Hendrick’s fashion, there’s a twist.
The pop up will feature diminutive drinks (read: tiny ‘tinis). According to the website, guests will be met by a pygmy goat (we’d expect nothing less, frankly), before being taken on a journey of “the peculiar and unknown”.
This London Cocktail Week, you will be welcomed into the Hendrick's Gin Tini Martini Bar by one of our magnificently minuscule pygmy goats ð Why you ask? 1. They're tiny. 2. They're delightful. 3. I love them. No more questions? Good. For tickets and more details, click the link in my bio. For my bartender pals / if you work in the trade – RSVP by emailing [email protected] ð·@fairygoatmother999 #HendricksGinTiniMartini #PygmyGoat @drinkupldn @hendricksgin
While it’s all a little bit cryptic, we can tell you that guests will receive six tiny Hendrick’s Gin Martini serves, as well as what promises to be a highly entertaining event. Get your tickets.
Cocchi’s Negroni JourneyFrom one classic Gin cocktail to another - the Negroni. On the Saturday of London Cocktail Week, go back in time to learn the history of the classic Italian Aperitif, which mixes Campari, Gin and Sweet Vermouth to create a deliciously balanced and bitter drink.
Find out all about Count Negroni whilst tasting the full range of Cocchi Vermouths. You’ll try five different styles of Negroni before creating your own perfect serve - that’s right, good cocktails and a life skill to take away, what more could you want?!
This is sure to be a popular one, so get your tickets quick.
The Craft of Compounding at Ableforth’s TubberyYou’ve heard of Ableforth’s Bathtub Gin - now you can make your own!
Ableforth’s is a compound Gin, which means that flavours are infused in neutral spirit, but no redistillation takes place (unlike a London Dry Gin, for example, whereby botanicals are distilled - or heated - with the neutral spirit). Compound Gins are often thought to be inferior when compared to distilled Gins, but Ableforth’s shows that’s no always the case.
Join us at The Tubbery from 3rd-6th October during @DrinkUpLDN's London Cocktail Week. • Wondering what a Tubbery is? Well, it's a fun and flavoursome space inspired by Ableforth's finest tubs - the Bathtub and the Grog Tub. We're inviting discerning drinkers to join us for Taste Workshops, be bowled over by the Ableforth's Skittle Alley, and to discover deliciousness in all its forms. • • • #AbleforthsTubbery #LCW18 #LondonCocktailWeek #Drinkstagram #London #Cocktails #Games
At the Ableforth’s Tubbery pop up, you’ll be welcomed with a Gin cocktail and taken through the compounding process. You’ll then use this knowledge to create your very own compound Gin. It’s a ticketed event, so don't forget to get yours.
The LCW Cocktail VillageIf none of those events tickle your fancy, just try your luck in the cocktail village.
