― This stuff is currently my favorite. Super smooth and great with an ice cube. Opens with caramel and a little spice, nice and earthy throughout. Lingering flavors of light char and vanilla on the finish. If Flaviar starts carrying this, do yourself a favor and try it out!

― Not my favorite, but it’s different. Quite earthy, some notes of pepper, & after notes of spice. It’s not for everyone

― I tried the "purple label" version of this and was extremely disappointed. It is exceptionally harsh with very mellow flavors. The strongest note I was able to discern from this was an odd astringent taste that pervades the palate from start to finish. I even attempted to use the whiskey in an old fashioned and I still was hit in the mouth with the astringent flavor. After doing some research supposedly they changed their sourcing after the original "red label" run and it has been widely disliked since then. If you are able to get your hands on the "red label" it might be worth a try, but this "purple label" I drank is awful.
