Established in 1947, the Berta Distillery produces Grappa Moscato in discontinuous distillation with small copper steam boilers and is one of a few distilleries that lower the temperature of the spirit to -16 degrees Celsius to solidify and remove all of the bitter oils. They’ve also introduced a system that allows them preserve the marc in specially designed airtight containers. This way the grapes retain their freshness and quality longer, also the entire year.

The Berta Valdavi Grappa Moscato is made 100% from the pomace of Muscat, one of the oldest domesticated aromatic grape varieties.

Italian law requires winemakers to sell their pomace to Grappa makers; this is a measure that was taken to discourage moonshine operators from producing their own juice. Sfortunatamente.
100 kg of moist, fresh pomace produces about 9 to 10 liters of Grappa.
Grappa is usually very high proof, above 40%, and has a somewhat justified reputation as firewater because, you know, it’s really alcoholic.
Grappa can help digestion, so it's perfect after meals.
