Top reviews for Benromach 2008 Peat Smoke:

— Very tasty with good smokiness

— For myself, like the Connemara peated Irish, this is something I very much enjoyed. I like my peat smoke and this was smooth, smoky and wonderful. I will be adding this to my collection.

— It is an outstanding, intense, '9 year old Single Malt Scotch Whisky with a a rich & aromatic birth; while an tart & oily life leads to a long smoky & salty death with a touch of menthol.

Ashley,
Oak and peat smoke on the nose. Fruit smoke and caramel. Touches of pear and honey in the mix. Not super different, but solid.

Teagan
Teagan,
Great smokiness, but felt somewhat watery or at least thin or otherwise lower on flavor than I'd like. Still one I enjoy sipping!

This seemed a bit watered down compared to others.

Brandon
Brandon,
First smell didn’t smell that smoky, but the start is obviously the rich peat smoke. Quickly clears and mellows to a fruit and honey sweetness, finishing with a hint of salt that gets amplified with a sip of water. I would drink this as an after dinner sweet and savory aperitif.

marlynn,
Peat and sweet nose. Smoky, peat, coal forward. Honey finish that is short with a salty linger. Very bold. Needs a good cigar and a fire. What you would envision a good scotch to taste like.

Joseph
Joseph,
Solid peat flavor but not overpowering. Good long finish similar to a lagavulin or laphroaig entry level.

Deja
Deja,
It’s ok.
