Character Goatson
This single malt from the Benromach distillery was distilled in 2000 and has enjoyed thirty-six months in Sicilian wine casks which previously held maturing Marsala. This has proffered a chewy, rich whisky with peppered spice.

About the Flavor Spiral
What does Benromach 2000 Marsala Wood Finish taste like?

The Flavor Spiral™ shows the most common flavors that you'll taste in Benromach 2000 Marsala Wood Finish and gives you a chance to have a taste of it before actually tasting it.

We invented Flavor Spiral™ here at Flaviar to get all your senses involved in tasting drinks and, frankly, because we think that classic tasting notes are boring.

Beer and malt Whisky seem to have quite a bit in common. Both drinks begin with malted barley, which deliver the enzymes and sugars needed for fermentation when steeped in hot water. The two go their separate ways at the wash stage, where they're fermented or aged to become the adult beverages you know and love.
For Gordon & MacPhail, Benromach is a lobor of love. They have been running their independent bottling business for over 115 years. They purchased Benromach after issuing several of their private releases from there. They continue to invest heavily in this, their one and only distillery.
90% of all Scotch Whiskies sold are Blends.
90% of all Scotch Whisky released in the market is a blend. That’s a hell of a lot.
Blended Whiskies are the result of years of craftsmanship and dedication. A master blender does not simply wake up one day with a profound ability to create a cohesive and enjoyable liquid. From nosing the liquid to working out quantities of each different grain and malt to go into the blend, a master blender can take years, if not decades, to train.
Categories of Scotch Whisky: Single malt, Blended malt (formerly called Vatted malt), blended, single grain and blended grain Scotch.
