Character Goatson
The flagship "super-premium" Vodka from Poland.

The Polmos Żyrardów Distillery was built in 1910, producing a range of Polish Vodkas and other Spirits. The Belvedere Vodka line was originally created to break into the United States market in 1996. It was marketed as the "world’s first super-premium Vodka." It was a huge success — not just in the US, but world-wide. So much so that virtually all production at the facility is now dedicated to creating the various versions of Belvedere Vodka. Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy (LVMH) acquired the facility and brand in 2002.

Belvedere Vodka is made exclusively from a local variety of Polish rye grain — Dańkowskie Zlote rye — harvested from seven farms nearby. Uniquely, the rye mash is cooked under pressure to prevent the essences of the grain from cooking off. Then the Spirit is fermented and distilled four times for purity. Then the Spirit is rested for two days before being brought to proof.

This process sure sounds "super-premium" to us.

Smartass Corner:
Belvedere Vodka is named after the Polish Presidential Palace in Warsaw — "Belweder." A picture of that building appears on the bottle.

Flavor Spiral TM
About the Flavor Spiral
What does Belvedere Vodka taste like?

The Flavor Spiral™ shows the most common flavors that you'll taste in Belvedere Vodka and gives you a chance to have a taste of it before actually tasting it.

We invented Flavor Spiral™ here at Flaviar to get all your senses involved in tasting drinks and, frankly, because we think that classic tasting notes are boring.

Vodka can be made anywhere in the world and pretty much of any ingredient that contains starch.

For a potato-based Vodka, 12kg (26.5lbs) potatoes are needed to produce a single bottle.
You won't impress the bartender by ordering Vodka-soda, but it's a good choice if you want to avoid unecessary sugar intake and make sure you stay hydrated when consuming alcohol.
Seems that Vodka is a lightweight—quite literally. This clear Spirit actually weighs less than water. One liter of water weighs 1,000 grams, while the same amount of Vodka only clocks in at 953 grams.
Unlike its boozy brethren Bourbon and Scotch, Vodka can be made anywhere in the world. But it’s Eastern Europe that gets the credit for its birth. Just don’t ask Russia and Poland to get to the bottom of it—both argue that they masterminded the Spirit first.
The average life of a $50 bill in circulation is 55 months before it is replaced due to wear.
It looks like potato chips and flavored Vodka are two things where the producers unleash their imagination. Bubble gum, fresh cut grass, pumpkin pie, marshmallow, and coconut water hardly begin to describe the many flavors of Vodka.
