Peru’s hidden liquid gem.

In the valley of Ica, heartland of Peru lies a winegrowing area that has been there since Spanish settlers brought vines from the old world. The name Pisco itself comes from the city of Pisco that has been the heart of Pisco production as early as the beginning of 18th century. Pisco is made by distilling grape wine into spirit, and was made as an alternative to orujo, a pomace brandy that came from Spain. Nowadays there is a big clash between Peru and Chile regarding where Pico originates from.

The Bodega San Isidro, producer of Barsol Pisco is one of the oldest distilleries in Peru and one of the earliest Pisco revival players that would like to bring this genuine liquid to the bars around the world.

Barsol Supremo Mosto Verde Torontel is made with partially fermented carefully selected Torontel grapes that endure the extreme climate changes of Ica valley. Using only the hardware that has been in use for over 100 years this artisanal libation is just everything what Pisco should be. It works great in cocktails also as some cocktail aficionados are finding out just now.
