Member Reviews and Ratings of Barr an Uisce Wicklow Rare Small Batch
Michael,
Smells sweet, but I can't pick out what exactly it smells like. I don't care for the taste of burned wood/charcoal aftertaste.
Gonzalo,
Very enjoyable.
Brandon,
This is a very good whiskey. I caught a lot of pear notes, which are not included in the wheel. Not difficult to drink.
Mark,
This was an outstanding Irish. It was a little more smokey than I anticipated, but very good flavor and finish. I will be happy to buy this one again.
Andrew,
The flavor wheel is accurate. Decent whiskey but not quite as smooth as the description suggests. Interesting taste but I won’t buy again
AJ,
So smooth it should be criminal. Indeed you must be careful when pouring a dram or else you may find the bottle gone and yourself in trouble with the law.
Eric,
Good stuff. Caramel and vanilla. Spice throughout. Nice mouthfeel. Hints of grass towards the finish. Fine on it’s own. Better with a little ice.
Leslie,
Love it! Caramel, vanilla and honey all together in a whiskey
David,
Very smooth Irish whiskey!
Devlin,
I enjoyed this dram, very little smoke and spice I get a bunch of vanilla upfront, super smooth
dorian,
Love it. Up there with Red Breast, Irishman, Middleton and Knappogue Castle which are my favorite Irish Whiskeys.
Stefanie,
.
Steven,
Not sure its for everyone, but it's definitely one I want to keep on hand!
The nose starts off harsh... as if its a higher proof than it really is.
But then vanilla, honey, fresh cut grass,, and a minty saltiness comes through...
Taste is spicier than most Irish whiskeys, but still complex
Tastes of peppermint, vanilla, earthy breads, currants, sherry..
The honey, citrus finish hits quickly and ends with a sustained peppery Finish and another taste i can't quite put my finger on
Haven't tested it with water or how it holds up to ice.
Devlin,
It is a tasty dram, nothing spectacular but nothing offensive, I would definitely get agin for an every day Irish, very smooth
Connor,
Pretty smooth, good with a Coke mixer or drinking on the rocks!
Daniel,
Lemon zest, clove, pine needles, and freshly baked bread on the nose. Sweet and Malty citrus, spices, and an earthy / oaky palate. Finish is medium, dry, and earthy. It’s definitely unique, but not my style.
Bob,
Great lasting taste. Becoming one of my favorites
Kevin,
Fantastic surprise. Smooth and balanced with a really nice vanilla finish and some pepper on the finish.
Don,
Loved this bottle. Smooth with a hint of pepper but certainly not overpowering. Great lasting smoothness.
Jason,
Little harsh up front. Good caramel flavor in the middle with a warm finish. Needs water or ice.
Leslie,
One of the smoothest Irish whiskeys I have tasted. Tastes of vanilla and green apples, and a very smooth honey finish. A tiny bit spicy and no burn at all. And perfectly priced; compares very favorably to a Yellow Spot
Michael,
Upfront you get the sweet from the vanilla and honey, left with slight nuttiness and spice. Overall a unique Irish whiskey and a great sipper.
Spencer,
I'm fairly new to irish, but I did enjoy this. Quite smooth with some unique flavor profiles (citrus/sweet).
Christopher,
Fantastic classic.
Ray,
Super smooth. Smells of honey with light grassy notes. The taste is very smooth, sweet flavors upfront give way to a slight peppery, smoky finish.
Darren,
Very different, citrus peel
Scott,
Simply the best whiskey, Irish or otherwise, I’ve ever had. I’m no connoisseur but Barr an Uisce makes me feel like one.
Scott,
This is going to be my go to whiskey for Irish, along with redbreast
Ken,
Fantastic. Very smooth, with a unique nuttiness for an Irish whiskey. I think it is now my favorite Irish whiskey.
Marc,
Great bite, easy to drink.
RUSS,
Very nice honey and vanilla start and finish that lingers for awhile. This could easily fall into the whiskey neat or on ice category.
Lite smoke and nut thru the nose.
Dan,
This was a very pleasant surprise. The grassy notes in the nose opened up to a light sweet meringue, marzipan taste. The buttery mouth feel hinted at the quality. Two enthusiastic thumbs up!
Jeff,
Solid Irish whiskey with rich vanilla aromas and hints oof honey. Caramel comes with the first sip and finishes with a slightly nutty flavor. A little more depth than a lot of Irish whiskeys I have tried at this price point. Will definitely order another when the bottle runs dry.
Katelyn,
I’d equate this to a good date, smooth and sweet.
AJ,
This tasting was an experience. Five minutes after my first sip I was still experiencing new flavors.
Scott,
Wonderful flavor, full of depth.
Bryan,
One of my favorites and best I have had ordering from Flaviar, so far
MATTHEW,
Great mild flavor with a good smoke back note.
Rick,
It was an injoyable taste. Smell of Vanilla, Honey, and Caramels were good. Flavor was a little to peppery for my tastes.
