Nose / Aroma / Smell
The aroma is boldly floral with citrus leaves and vanilla.
Flavor / Taste / Palate
The palate is rich and creamy with the layered flavors melding between jasmine and elderflowers and wild limes coupled with ripe pears that blooms into a bouquet of wood spices and warm tobacco leaves.
The finish is long and sweet with a feeling of the old world.

White fruit flavors with sweet honey and caramel notes. Lacks richness and depth. White grapes and honey on the nose.
Excellent cognac, will buy again.
Bold and rich with underlying notes of zest and pair, not bad for this price.
Nice start but lingering tobacco flavor at the end.
Good quality vsop, better than the usual supermarket brands
this left me unimpressed. the pear is interesting but I’m not one for fruity cognacs. the tobacco doesn’t do much for me either, and overall this cognac falls a little flat throughout. didn’t like the smell of it either
The best value from the tasting set and a real sweet spot between quality and price.
Peach, baked apple, vanilla and some richer baking spices on the nose.
Fruity palate with oak notes and a nice earthy character adding another layer of
Complexity. Really good and really smooth, I’d definitely go for a bottle of this.
A nice earthy cognac
Delicious! I taste the pair in the bouquet right away!
So good! The tobacco was just right-. This was smooth, sweet, fruity- apricot comes out right away. Would definitely buy this!
Very good. Had a spice/fruit mouth to me. Worth a try.
The tobacco notes were a bit too much for me
What an amazing drink. Love it.
Not a cognac drinker, but wanted to give it a try so got the "Le Cognac" tasting box. I found this one smoother than the Merlot VS, but my wife found that it had more of a sharp bite on the tongue. Still smooth going down. I preferred this one out of the 3 in the box.
This is right up my street! not too harsh on the pallet, well balanced with a hint of fruit and vanilla. Would definitely recommend!
It is a very good, balanced, VSOP Cognac that has an aromatic birth; while an elegant life leads to a balanced death of medium length.
Not the smoothest brandy I have in the home bar but a totally brag-worthy one none the less! Strong on the tobacco, oaky, with subtle fruit and vanilla hints. A little too smoky for me at times as I prefer a deeper toffee, caramel usually associated with a Spanish brandy but it is a wonderful accompaniment to a rich roast after dinner coffee.
sun in a bottle
you get what you pay for
Nothing special but not bad either. Compared to others it tastes a little bland and leaves something to be desired after the sip.
Tastes like a fruity scotch. A little disjointed in its flavor profile but I wouldn’t turn it down.
Just opened the bottle & poured a generous amount & just finished it, it was crisp, very smooth & a very pleasant experience really liked this 1
Really beautiful flavour.
Very good! Cognac is now to me, but I'm going to buy some!
Fresh tobacco and fruit notes on the nose. Nicely rounded with oak and earth flavors. A pleasing finish. A dry but cleansing linger. Nice.
This was indeed a good cognac. I truly recommend this.
Great fruit aromas like light nectarine on the nose. Taste adds tobacco and oak. Complex but not as balanced or as smooth as the Louis Royer XO that was also in the tasting kit.
Great sweet oak flavor with hints of citrus
delicious !!!!! very smooth not overpowering loved it
Tastes like a light Irish whiskey.
Pretty smooth. Very drinkable
Not a big fan of tobacco favoring
I like the tobbaco here and then firther complexity.
The taiste notes are accurate a very smoky taste to it . The finish is not bad, this is one where you do not desire a fruity finish . It drinks more like a medium dry Pinot noir for comparison
Definite oak and smooth intake. Very nice
Cognacs are normally not my first choice, but this one has a great earthy/oaky, slightly smokey flavor to it - if you like peaty scotches and are trying to branch into cognacs, this is an excellent choice.
I love the fruitiness
Very smooth taste.
Hints of fruit, slightly with a delicate balance. Very nice sipping cognac.
This is the second cognac that I have tried. Very similar to the Merlet. I think I need to try on its own, not at a tasting.
This is really, really good. Lots of vanilla up front. I have been drinking a lot of port wine lately and this reminds me a bit of that experience - this is great finish to a night of dining.
you never forget your first one
Big Vanilla and Oak notes. Smooth
Light but with a slight bite and that wonderful warming feeling that you expect.
Fine taste. Going to be a regular in the cabinet!
Was very surprised with this dram. Smooth with a great sweetness. Great choice wth a cigar.
