A fabulous nine year-old Bourbon finished an additional nineteen months in Napa Valley Cabernet casks.

Bardstown Bourbon Company is an amazing thing to behold. It is a remarkable facility recently expanded to produce six million proof gallons of Spirit per year — making it one of the largest distilleries in the world. But it is also a gleaming, modern building with sharp edges, having some of the most advanced technology for great Whisky-making.

Founded in 2013 with production hitting full stride in 2015, they started by filling their rickhouses with sourced Spirits to support their construction. With massive amounts of product sold out into the future, they are the central production for dozens of famous brands — including Jefferson’s, High West, James E. Pepper, and many more. But they carve out a selection to release under their own brand as well.

Bardstown Bourbon Company will be a significant force in the industry for generations to come.

Bardstown Bourbon “Phifer Pavitt Reserve” is a collaboration. Phifer Pavitt Winery is a high-end winery in the upper Napa Valley. They supplied some of their best ex-Cabernet Wine casks. Steve Nally — master distiller at Bardstown Bourbon — and his team were tasked with finding the perfect Whiskey to pair with those fine casks.

They selected a nine year-old George Dickel Bourbon at 100.2 proof with a mash bill of 84% corn, 8% rye, and 8% malted barley. This fine Bourbon was finished in the Phifer casks for nineteen months. The Wine casks are larger than normal Whiskey barrels, so they were placed on the floor — literally — on the top level for sun exposure. The result is a mesmerizing, flavor-packed, rich and elegant Bourbon bottled at 53.5% ABV in its natural color without chill-filtering.

Ratings & Reviews
Over the top with a seamless blend from two different worlds. Wet Cab Sauv barrels finishing a mature Tennessee bourbon. Don’t ask...just drink.
One of my favorite finished bourbons. Amazing nose and finish. Take a few drinks then add a splash of water or ice and it's completely different. Definitely worth checking out and feels like a new experience every time I drink it
This is a fantastic bourbon. The time spent in the wine barrels gives it a fantastic nose and finish. Because it's barrel-strength, it's a bit on the hot side. Cutting it with a splash of water REALLY opens it up and brings out the complex bourbon and wine barrel flavors.
