Top reviews for Barbancourt 8 YO:

— I first tried Barbancourt many years ago in Laguna Niguel, Ca. I found it to be very smooth with an easy finish. It is of course now my favorite rum, Port Au prince Haiti!

— This really changed my mind about Rum. Now this is the first I seek when entering a store...but few have it. It's worth visiting Haiti just to come back with a case or two!

— I'm torn between this and the 15 year. Ultimately the 15 wins, but per dollar this is every bit as good. More complex and challenging than its older brother, this is a fine sipping rum that works particularly well in a rum-and-coke.

Nicholas,
I'm torn between this and the 15 year. Ultimately the 15 wins, but per dollar this is every bit as good. More complex and challenging than its older brother, this is a fine sipping rum that works particularly well in a rum-and-coke.

Jay
Jay,
Seems to have quite the ethanol flavor to it? I'm kind of surprised at the other reviews. Maybe good for mixer in cocktails, but I don't think I'll sip it. If you can get past that alcohol vapor, it's pretty nice. Maybe better neat than on the rocks? Usually, water/rocks improve and remove some of the alcohol burn/vapor.

Excellent value for money - this has been my go-to dark rum for a long time

guest,
Enjoyable rum and beginning to be one of my favorites. It is mildly sweet and has some grassy qualities to it. It is a solid rum for whiskey drinkers.

Colin,
Of the three in my sample box, this was my favorite! It has a sweet, vanilla flavor that compliments the bitey spices. I'm sure to add this to my collection soon!
