Reviews and Tasting Notes

Appearance / Color
Amber

Nose / Aroma / Smell
It's a delicately balanced profile of smoke, fruit, and spice. The Islay smoke shines over vanilla, toffee, jam, and ginger notes.

Flavor / Taste / Palate
The complex palate leads with smoky notes that give way to fruity apple and dark chocolate. A nice and spicy peppery kick balances it all perfectly.

Finish
Finishes long with the smoky notes joined by a nice nuttiness and spice, with just the right amount of heat.

David
David,
Like that a lot. Flavor spiral is right on. Chocolate, smoke, and a slightly spicy finish. Nice.

Josh
Josh,
Light and sweet

Chris
Chris,
Heavy dark chocolate on the nose, but a complex, smokey mid-palate and smooth finish (none of the heavy lingering peat aftertaste). One of the best Scotches I’ve had.

Sam
Sam,
A little sharp at the start but surprisingly good sipping for such a cheap bottle.

William
William,
Islay smoke meets Speyside sweetness. Long finish. Unbelievable value.

Brady
Brady,
Good for the price. Mostly taste ethanol and not much character, the finish managed to be a little smooth.

Lawrence
Lawrence,
Nail polish on the nose. Spice and malts on the tongue

Brian
Brian,
Lighter than most bourbon/whiskey then I normally drink, but nice flavor with nice sweetness and smooth finish.

Liam
Liam,
Easy sipping. Lots at flavors smooth and light.

Johnathan

Very smooth, great mixer, just plain lovely peat & bold lamb flavors. A dragon slay of a price!

Great overall value. Recommend for this price range.

Robert
Robert,
Very good evening Dram. The peat is not too much and is very pleasant and not overwhelming. I will purchase this Whiskey again.

William
William,
The hints of peat and the surprising chocolate notes early, plus the satisfying finish make this whisky an excellent introduction for anyone reluctant to take the peat-plunge. Add a couple of drops of water to open this one up.

Chad
Chad,
Chocolate notes are up front and strong! What a weird yet amazing flavor. Way smoother than you would think from a five year, must be the blends. Worth more than 30$ but please don’t tell them!!!

Robert
Robert,
I didn’t like it at first. Seemed too peaty. But over time as I Learned to take my time with it I began to enjoy it more and more.

Susan
Susan,
Strong, smooth blend tastes like a single malt. Love the hints of peat.

Brandon
Brandon,
I don’t taste the chocolate. Fairly smooth finish, especially for the price point. Could use a little more smoke.

James
James,
Good, not great, but an excellent value for the price. Peat-forward first on the palette, then notes or caramel and cinnamon.

Brennan
Brennan,
I would love this whisky if it didn’t say “peated” not nearly smoky enough to have it on the label. If you’re looking for a decent blend, go for it. If you want peat, look elsewhere.

Kanwar
Kanwar,
Loved it. Has some strong notes. Worth every cent. Not everything good has to cost an arm and leg.
